I have cramps occasionally. I think that as long as they aren't so severe you can't function and they are not accompanied by bleeding, you are probably just experiencing the joys of pregnancy. That being said, maybe put in a call to your OB's office and see what they recommend watching for. That way you'll be prepared.

I had some of that later in pregnancy and it was odd since I rarely have cramps with period....they chaulked it up to round ligament pain although I thought it felt different than that....I would watch it and if it gets out of control call your OB...you may want to call them for just checking in anyway....I am obsessive that way and that is what we pay them for :)
I've had menstrual like cramping for a few weeks. I mentioned it to my Dr and he said "As long as you're not having more than 6 an hour you're fine." I am an idiot and kept my mouth closed - cause mine last the whole hour, sometimes 2 or 3. This went on for a few weeks with the cramping lasting longer and longer. Thursday the pain was no longer mild and my back hurt and I was nauseous... then I noticed my pee was getting darker. I called my Dr and they got me right in. By the time I got there my urine sample was the color of cranberry juice and I was hurting pretty bad... turns out I am passing kidney stones.
My advice is just to talk to your Dr and be very specific about your cramping - I could possibly have saved weeks of discomfort and moodiness had I just spoken up.
Let me tell you - I gave birth natural with Paige 3 years ago, plan to do the same with this boy in a few weeks... and I'd rather pop out 10 more with no drugs than handle more stones. In the meantime it wouldn’t hurt one bit to increase your water intake. It is very possible that it’s your uterus growing, in which case just lay down and relax – just imagine that lil babe getting bigger in preparation for meeting you!
