I use Provera monthly for cycle regulation, however, I take a ten day dose. It works for me, most times, sometimes before the 10 day dose is complete, sometimes a few days after. I also have diagnosed PCOS.

I haven't, but good luck!

I'm having an idiot moment.... 3 to 1..... that means a 66% chance you have PCOS, right? Or is it vice versa? If there's a good chance you have it, you should consider researching methods of conceiving for women with PCOS. Check out the forum on soulcysters.net. They have the most comprehensive list of helpful articles anywhere.

I try this after months of no period; however, it was unsuccessful. I actually didn't get my period even with BC pills.  So at the end what actually worked was changing me from metformin XR to regular metformin....I wasn't absorbing the other.  The good news is seeing a specialist isn't always a bad thing because they can test for things insurance doesn't always pay for; however, when you have ovarian disfunction (typically what they call it when your stuff's not working) insurance pays!  So there's the positive of it all....

Good Luck...

PS...be prepared for hot flashes and mood swings!

I've used this in Feb and it brought on my period with a vengence!! I bled for two weeks, then became regular until august.

I had used it all. I am surprised they think PCOS even with the weight loss. Its so hard to say though. PCOS sucks when trying to have a baby. DH and I ended up going to a fertility specialist after a long time trying to get pregnant. I have been on it all. The med should bring on the period. I had to take it each month to have a period. You can still get pregnant thought. I say, bring on the provera and see what happens. Every body is different. After the surgery I was pretty much regular until now. Female bodies suck. Endocrin Dr is cool too, but maybe talk to your WLS dr. He may have some input as well. PCOS usually corrects itself after loosing the weight.
Anyway best of luck to you.
