Do you burp and fart in front of your kids?

At what age do you stop?  Or do you ever stop?

I mean at some point we'll have to teach Cooper it's not polite to just let one rip.... right?  And we probably shouldn't do it in front of him?

Now we applaude when he toots and clap his hands.  I guess I should stop that, huh?

I don't remember every hearing my mom or dad fart...... until I was an adult and moved back home (and even that's few and far between).

Just a random question for a Wednesday....

My boys are the only people on God's green earth who have ever heard me fart.  I always say excuse me and they follow my example.  They know to try to avoid tooting and burping in public, but if they do they always excuse themselves.  My boys are 10 and 8.  I probably will stop tooting in front of them when they are a little older, but right now they still feel like my babies and they never laugh and act silly, they just realize it's a normal bodily function.

We do in front of our kids but use it as a teaching moment and say excuse me.   Sadie knows what it means to use her manners in many ways.   If she hears someone burp or fart she'll say you're supposed to say excuse me...use your manners!!   The things we think of once we have kids huh??  I will say DH and I have had some very strange conversations over things like this since having Sadie LOL.

Ummmm, Never? LOL

My house is a burp/fart fest constantly! We all know that doing it in public is inappropriate. But at home......it's on!

But then again, my house is a zoo, we laugh, goof off and make fart noises for fun. There's rarely an uptight moment in my house. But being insane and goofy is what keeps us sane. We are a family of 6, and I couldn't imagine being June Cleaver or being so polite that fun doesn't exsist. But then again, if you don't find farting and burping funny, then I guess my house would be a horrendous experience for you.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Ha ha, I wish you lived closer, I have a feeling we would get along VERY well, our families sound very similar.

I'm 34 and my parents still "let the love flow" at will. My dh is the burper and i'm the tooter and we just don't even think twice about it while we're in our home. Now, letting loose in public has been a challenge for our son. He knows he shouldn't and he says "excuse me" but he gets so tickled by it and we laugh at/with him ~> probably not a good thing.

Don't really have an answer, just my thoughts ...

Cute question!

We are very disfunctional at our house, lol.  We burp, fart, run outside in our undies (We live way out in the country, lol)  My son is 10 and knows what goes at home does not go on in public or at others homes.............Just our big barn of crazies,....lol

Emma farts and says all proud of herself...."Emma farted". Yes!!! I taught her that! But, the problem is that now when other people fart (my mom who has issues with her farting and can't stop them, really) Emma will say Grandma Lynn Farted! I think it is way cute, but it bugs my mom. I think before she starts school we will teach her manners...but now it is just a fact of life. We don't hide it from her. LOL Shari
