Is this odd? Anyone have experience?
About a week ago I noticed a dull pain just below my left shoulder blade. The pain sort of radiated down my arm and made my arm feel weak. I got nervous, went to bed, and when I woke up the pain was gone. I figured I had somehow pulled a muscle.
Then tonight I had the same pain but in my right shoulder blade, and there is a numbness going down my arm and fingers. It kinda feels like when you sleep on your arm all night long, except it felt fine all day until a few hours ago.
Is this common with pregnancy? Does it sound like a pinched nerve or something? I don't have any other symptoms with it. I have a cold but I'm pretty sure the two are not related.
My mom has a herniated disk in her lower back, and mentioned that maybe I have one in my neck region, but she's a nurse and jumps to the WORST conclusions first lol.
I know back pain is common during pregnancy but it seems odd. I'm going to mention it to my Dr. just wanted and thoughts or opinions.
Thanks Karen

Pregnancy definitely makes everything seem more pronounced and more worrisome, doesn't it? I know that swelling during PG can create a lot of tingling-type sensations. I had pins & needles in my hands and arms the last few months of my 1st PG (like carpal tunnel, but without pain). It went away after birth and I hadn't thought of it again until now.
Definitely mention to your dr, but in my very non-medical untrained opinion, it sounds like just a PG-related annoyance.
Keep us posted!
Hugs,
