6 Month Check-In
Hi Ladies,
I think of you all often and am so glad to see so many of you reaching the end of the 3rd trimester, new faces welcoming new pregnancies and the TTC ladies that are finally getting that BFP. I lurk when I can, and post a lot less than I'd like. You know how it goes.
Everett is 6 months old now! It doesn't seem possible. All those months of bedrest and multiple hospitalizations seem like just a fleeting memory now. My worries that I would somehow love this unexpected blessing any less than my other children were unfounded. I am head over heals for my little baby - and his brother and sister adore him too. I can't imagine life without my 3 children and on the really great days, I even think about how it might not be too bad to have a 4th. Then I get over it and appreciate what I have.
Everett is the most easy-going baby I've ever had the pleasure of caring for. He is very serious and studies everything. Then he'll laugh spontaneously when he sees his siblings or when I sing. He's rolling lots and drooling even more. No teeth yet, but I am thinking we'll see one very soon. He's a sweet baby in so many ways and I just can't get enough of him. He very rarely cries or fusses except in the car. He's the only 1 of my children that hates car rides....still!
I was petrified when I conceived just 1 month post-op (failed/malabsorbed BC). If you remember, I had HG and complications throughout the PG and every moment of every day I kept worrying that Everett was going to suffer as a result. Not so. I ate the carbs, I forced the calories, I kept down whatever worked, and he went from 7lbs 4 ozs to almost 16lbs now! He has met and exceeded all the milestones and appears healthy and happy.
I've continued to lose weight until 3 months post-partum, now I'm maintaining. Hoping to step it up and start losing again after my hernia surgery (tomorrow). Iron infusions finally brought me to the low range of normal and some energy. Otherwise, life is good and I am soooo glad I had WLS. Without it I wouldn't have Everett and I wouldn't have this 2nd chance at life for me and for my children.
I'm including a few pics for those not on FB. Thanks for the support you lend and for walking this path with me.
Hugs,
