Nathan fell out of his crib....

OH NO!!! Poor baby! I am so sorry! You did everything right. Some kids are just monkeys! Bailey is one that is also why I have ALL of her furntinure and alot of furniture in our house strapped to the walls. *Sigh* kids! :)

I am glad that he is ok - I can imagine the heart attack you had! :(

Thanks so much Dawn.....he is into a lot of things....so I may have to start strapping things to the wall too....he sure is a monkey....all over the place....hope you had a nice Halloween....did you dress the girls up?

It happens. Forgive yourself. First of all, YOU are not to blame. Even on the lowest level, some babies will climb out/over. At 2 mos old, my oldest rolled off the couch and landed on the carpet. He missed the sharp edge of the coffee table by an inch. I looked away and didn't expect that he could roll.

You did exactly all that you could/should and Nathan is not permanently damaged or traumatized as a result. By close monitoring, you would definitely know if something were wrong.

I didn't read the pp's, but for my oldest (a major climber), I put lots of pillows around his crib. Eventually I converted it to a day bed with a side rail because he insisted on climbing. Some parents I know just put the mattress on the floor.

Thanks so much sweet Jo (and it is good to see you btw).....I saw others put pillows outside of the crib too....I am not sure he can climb yet given the crib style but you never know....Nate apparently was a climber when he was a baby too.....so I will have to contend with those genes....
