Nathan fell out of his crib....
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....I have been meaning to put the mattress to the lowest level but had not got around to it since he is soooooo active and all over the place I did not know what to do with him while I was fixing it.....well, tonight he threw his paci out of the crib (common) and I was in the kitchen washing my hands and heard this loud thumb and he screamed like I had never heard before....I was talking to Nate and I rushed to the room and he was lying on the floor crying....he clinched on to me so bad and I was worried because he was trying to go to sleep as I was holding him......I made sure he stayed awake and was checking his pupils and looked and felt his whole body...he began laughing as I was touchng his knees and neck.....he seems himself, he ate good and played for about 3 hours before he finally fell asleep....so I think he is okay but of course am still a little scared....I pulled the playpen in the room, put him in it and then lowered the mattress (that was a pain in the bootie)....
So, any advice? Any additional things to watch for? There is not a plan to move him to a toddler bed yet...he is not even walking yet....I think this lowest level in the crib will be fine.....just very scary.....he is definitely taking after Nate....Nate crawled out of his crib lots as a baby...ugh....
Anyway, if you have any thoughts let me know.....TIA!

I just wanted to say I think you did the right thing. I would just check on him through out the night and make sure he stirs. I usually touch them on the leg enough that they move but not enough to wake them. I have three kids and they all have fallen off of something. A lady I use to work with told me they survive in spite of us not because of us. It has gotten me through many sleepless nights.
Good Luck,
Emily

Poor baby!! Sounds like you did everything right.... scary, though !!
When Coopie fell off the chair last month I panicked and woke him up every 2 hours and made him stay awake for 10 minutes.... probably overkill and he wasn't happy about it!
Of course I checked his pupil reactions and his joints / bones, etc.
Babies are pretty resiliant!
Give him a hug from me!

Scary for sure. I think you did the right thing by checking him out, keeping him awake, pupil check, etc
Normally for concussions they advise you to wake the person up every hour on the hour and ask them a few simple questions but of course not good with a baby. He probably just got a good scare. I hope he is better and nothing comes of it.
Emad is in a transition phase as well with crib mattress at lowest level and the rail down but still high enough so he can't roll out when asleep. I put him in for his nap today, and like Nathan he wanted to get out to get his ball that he had with him to go to sleep and must have fell...he was screaming...I run in and face full of blood...I was petrified and he would not hold still long enough for me to see where it was coming from. It was finally narrowed down to his mouth which from personal experience I have learned bleeds a LOT no matter how small.
