Twin Mommies (or Trips too)
Hi Sandy! I remember feeling horrible at the end. I had my boys 1 day shy of 37 weeks. They were 5, 7 and 5, 9 and came out kicking and screaming. Needed no oxygen or any help, was able to see and hold them the same day and they stayed in our room with us!! I wasn't on bedrest, thank goodness, I don't have any advice there. I didn't go into labor that early, but my b/p started getting higher and they thought that Logan wasn't gaining much weight, and Andrew was taking all of the food!! They told us that Logan would be smaller, around 4 lbs, but he was 5,7!! That is the reason I had my c-section, and I was starting to feel pretty uncomfortable. I think it would be good if you could continue to bake them for a little longer, not what you wanted to hear!! They will be here shortly, good luck counting down the days!!

I know its misarable, but the longer they stay in the better, I hope you can find something to help the time go by!
Mine were born at 32 weeks 5 days when my water finally broke. A (boy) was 3lb 13oz and B (girl) was 4lb 5oz. They spent 12 days in NICU.
I was in the hossy at 28 weeks because they could not stop my labor. I was dilated to 3cm and meds were not stopping the ctx. I was given steroids for their lungs because at the time they were pretty sure they were going to come then. Well thank GOD after 3 days on Magnesium sulfate (drugs from HELL) my ctx were still there but not causing me to progress. I was sent home on full bed rest until my 32 week check up and I was re admitted for the beginnings of preclampsia. Baby A needed surfactant for his lungs and was on a ventilator for about 12 hours. Other than that and jaundice the hospital staff couldn't believe how well they did!
My sister who was a singleton was also born at 32 weeks 5 days and spent a whole month in NICU. You really just never know what babies will require NICU time and how much.
Hang in there!
I hope this info helps someone...I know it is kind of off the wall, but I wanted to let people know that the paci's are not just to shut up their babies (although thisis a benfit)lol...this is not the primary reason.
Always,
Laura
My last son only one though came at exactly 35 weeks and he was 7 pounds 3 ounces. Huge!! Problem was his lungs were bad. He had a problem called grunting and could not suck and swallow. He was in NICU for 7 days. The first 3 days he was on only IV fluids to mature his lungs enough to handle eating. He was able to breastfeed finally at days 3 1/2 almost 4 days after birth. He had pnemonia and his lung collapsed and had jaundice all in that 6 days and on the 7th late at night he came home. It was no fun watching him go through all of that. Now he is fine and 11 years old.
I hope you get some relief soon. I can only imagine how you feel. Wish I could help though!! They told me to do bedrest also since about 28 weeks after my gallbladder surgery but I sit and lay down as much as I can but its hard to just rest. I try though!!!

I was on bed rest starting at 14 weeks, complete bed rest! I read alot, crocheted, watched countless hours of TV, talked on the phone! It was AWFUL! I was only allowed up to go to the bathroom that was it!
So with all that being said I FEEL your pain and wi**** could be magically wished away but once those girls are born full term nice and healthy every minute will be worth it!
Hang in there!

i dont want my water to break..im scared, lol
i do understand how hard it is with other kids around you, i was on "bedrest" last week for 4 days due to contractions but thats hard to do with a 15 month old and no help
i just let my daughter make a mess throughout the day and when i put herto bed then i go clean it all up
no energy to chase her...........my babies are way smaller than yours, if yours were born now they may or may not be in the nicu depending on their situation, mine i am sure would be given there weights
good luck and hope you get some relief soon
p.s. today was my last day of work, yippee
