Hello ladies, my name is Brinah, I am new to this thread. I am almost 2 years post op DS. I recently got married and we are gonna start trying to get pregnant. This will be my first child. Any suggestions on post op pregnancy. Anything special I need to do before trying besides making sure my labs are good. All suggestions are appreciated. Looking forward to all the great advice!!  Thanks Brinah!!

Welcome Brinah - and congrats on your recent marriage.  There are several DSers out here (I'm RNY) who can give any specifics on a DS pregnancy - but from what I've read, they pretty much are a normal pregnancy w/the added clause of watching labs.

The only advice I can give is to get a book called 'Taking Charge of your Fertility.' It's an excellent book that'll help you learn how to track your ovulation, and hopefully speed up the getting pregnant process.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Congrats on getting married!   I would start taking folic acid now (if your not taking a prenatal).  Get those eggs healthy!    I used mymonthlycycles.com to keep track of my periods and help determine my most fertile days.   You may want to let your surgeon and your OB know you are trying and see if they have any special instructions.
I hope you get pregnant quickly.   With my first it took us three months of trying to get pregnant (this one took 3 minutes of being careless lol).
Good luck,
Amy
