sperm count zero??

My husband had a SA done last week, and he said he just got a call from the clinic and they're telling him that his sperm count is 0...They they dont really know but mose likely it's just not getting out ??

Does anyone know what this means, how you find out the problem, or if there's things to fix this?

Or know what questions I can call and ask? This was really unepected

My first question to you and your hubby was his sample. Was it collected with no lubricants, solely *********** by hand. Was it placed in a sterile collection cup, was it kept warm while transported to the clinic and how long did it take you from collection time until it was given to clinic?

He did this at a clinic, rather than at home and bringing it in. It had one of those sliding windows where you can put your sample cup in it and spin it to the other side. I would *assume* someone would've been on the other side to collect it imediately, but I cannot confirm that and I don't believe he checked either...

Me again, so I asked him... He said he did use some lubrication but was careful not to get any in the cup. He said he did also hear the door open on the other side, so someone must've gotten it.

but even if he used lube or they took to long to get the sample, there would be dead sperm, not no sperm. My husband had a blockage in his right testical, they did a simple procedure in the office that unblocked his tube and his sperm count went up drastically in two weeks! Hopefully this is all it is and they can fix it super easy for you.

What kind of a dr did he go to?

I made an appt for him to see a urologist, one that specializes in male infertility.... But can't get in until Dec 10th, unless he lucks out and gets a cancellation..

I am praying it's an easy fix too, thank you

My DH went to a urologist, I was just going to suggest getting him on the canellation list, I did that when I was getting ready for my WLS and almost every doctor got me in about a month before my actual appointment because of it! Good luck.

Oh, Lisa...that is unexpected. They will probably re-test, like Traci said there can be lots of factors. But, since they didn't find abnormal or dead sperm, lets just hope it is something fixable. Azoospermia is what this is called and you can do a google search for information. Have they requested another test? Or a more thorough exam? I know this is tough news...but you guys can get through this. I will be keeping it in prayer. Please keep me posted. Shari
