Barium Swallow while breastfeeding (banded)

I had my son a month ago and the next morning I could not eat anything, even drinking was difficult. I rode it out for 3 days but it was not getting better so I had an emergency unfill on the 4th day.

I felt a whole lot better and now I would like to refill my band. Mt Dr needs me to have a barium swallow test first to make sure everything is ok.

Anyone know if I can still breastfeed after the test? I will be swallowing that awful barium stuff and I am afraid it will hurt the little guy.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

I had a barium swallow while breastfeeding.  I was told it was safe. I didn't have to pump and dump or I wouldn't have done it (I can't throw away liquid gold lol)  Hannah is a perfectly healthy 20 month old now, so there wasn't any side effects apparently.   I would call your surgeon and let them know you are BF'ing and see what they say.
Good luck,
Amy
