Brownish discharge early 1st trimester. Kinda TMI - sorry!

I'm almost 8 weeks along and for a few days i've had a light brown discharge on my panty-liner. There is a slight urine odor but nothing like a yeast infection.  Nothing there when I wipe (maybe a smudge of CM) and no cramping or itching or burning or anything.

Anyone else experience this?

Should I contact someone this weekend or wait till Monday?

TIA,
Cathie

It could be old implantation bleeding. If it is really worrying you I would call. I had that with my first child and I freaked out. He was fine he is now 9. If you are worried I would call, I did.

Cathie,

I had that with all of my pregnancies.  I assume it is old blood from implantation, but if you are really concerned, call your OB...that is what they get paid the big bucks for :)  If it starts to increase or turns to bright red bleeding, then of course get to the ER immediately.  I hope that you are able to get some rest this weekend and keep things kinda calm and relaxed it might help that to go away if it is implantation spotting.

I had that with both my pregnancies also.  Not sure if it's normal but it did go away.

I had it with both of my previous pregnancies and now I am about 5 weeks with baby #3 and have been spotting brown for 2 days now.  I am not worried at all.  However, if it turns bright red, then that is something to be of concern.  Best wishes to you!

Hey Ann,

It seems to be lightening up some but is still there. I've got to call my OB tomorrow anyway because i've also been sick with a cold that's getting worse!

I saw my PCP on friday and they tested me for flu; which was negative - thankfully, but i'm still not getting any better. My son went to the weekend clinic yesterday and he has a sinus infection.

And my DH says "I bet you'd feel better if you could get some sleep" - well, Duh!

Cathie- make sure you get it check out.  I guess I am one of the rare situations, and not to scare you.  I had 2 streaks of light brown when I wiped, and went in for u/s there was no longer a heartbeat.  I had no pain, nothing.  So- I ALWAYS- say better safe to check and be that pernoid pregnant lady, most offices completely understand.  More then likely it will be old blood like everyone said.  Sending positive thoughts, and hope you feel better real soon.
