Thanks Jennifer! I feel better about things today than last night when I was sitting here wanting to cry... It was a better day and we've went back to the feeding bottle for his foods... He ate much better that way so if it works I'm sticking with it... At least he is eating for us... I will still try to feed him off the spoon at first and if he won't eat that way, it will go in a bottle...

I think he's going to grow & thrive just fine... He may just be smaller than I was or his father was when we were little... I wonder sometimes if it's not a side effect of my surgery but I don't think it's that even... I just think I have a wonderful little peanut... :-)

Thanks again... Your words mean more than you know to me.... it made me feel better!

First of all, I agree with others....you are NOT a bad mother....AT ALL!!! You are doing what you can......

I personally do not have any experience with what you are going through but agree with the other posters....perhaps food in his bottle, take away some of the juice and do formula (with some cereal in it). Have you tried other foods too? While I am worried about Nathan being too heavy, he LOVES carbs unfortunately....he loves bread, baby fish crackers, puffs, potatoes, etc. Perhaps Zander wants something different....

You are doing a good job and don't doubt yourself.....I often get frustrated on what to feed Nathan too.....when he reaches one (in a few weeks :( ) I am sure it will open up to allowing him to eat more....Erika recommended that book Super Baby Food to me and I am loving it...I just bought it off of ebay for not much and there are some great ideas and recipes in there....if I see any suggestions in there for you I will post right away.....

Hang in there mama!

Thanks for responding... I appreciate it! If you see anything in the book to pass on my way, just feel free to do so... I read here just about every day although I don't jump in much anymore.... We are going back to the feeding bottle if he wont eat off the spoon when it's first offered to him... Tried this earlier and he did well... He ate a whole jar of food in just a few mins... YAY!!!

Thanks again!!

I have to agree with all the PP...You are not doing anything wrong!  Aethyn goes in spurts and there were a few visits where I had to come back a couple weeks later for weight checks because he was losing weight!  I have to take him in again in a month or so for a weight check...I think it will go good though because I weighed him yesterday (the old fashioned way...weigh me first-YIKES, Then weight both of us together-Double YIKES, and subtract the two numbers) I think he has gained a little!  One Visit he will be in the 50% then the next visit he will be in the 6%...It is really frustrating!  Just hang in there!  He will be fine!  The worst thing you can do is force him Too much!  Try to push him to eat just a little more when he thinks he is done....but don't make him clear his plate if he doesn't want it!  Aethyn refuses to drink his milk...I have to add yogurt to it for him to drink it!  May try adding some things like that!  We used to add fruits to his formula also!(when he was still on formula)   Feed him whatever he likes....if he likes oatmeal it's OK for him to eat that for lunch or dinner...it doesn't have to be just for breakfast.  Is he getting bored with the same foods?  Maybe try something he hasn't tried.  Is he maybe ready to graduate to stage 3?  May be he doesn't like the texture?!  I don't have much else to suggest except just try to hang in there!  For the Longest time (Although this has been a good week for Aethyn's eating) Aethyn would just push the spoon away and throw his food everywhere (good thing we have dogs)  or spit it out and throw it on the floor for the dogs...same with his milk he would pu**** away and spit it out....he just didn't want to eat it so we would wait, let him play for a while then try again...if he still didn't want it the that was fine we would try at the next meal.  Zander may just be taking in a lot right now...learning lots of new things!  He will eat when he is hungry!  He won't let himself starve!  Hang in there, you are doing great!

Thanks for the input... I appreciate it so much!! We've went back to using his feeding bottle again and he ate really well for me today.... I will offer him by spoon to eat at first and if that doesn't work I will put it in the bottle... If it works, then I am doing it...  I always keep him on a variety of foods so he don't get bored... I think some of this is the tooth hes trying to cut through up top....  Zander is a busy body... Always on the GO GO GO... I think that's why he's so skinny too... But he is healthy according to the doc... So I guess I will take that as a good thing... I'm hanging in there and trying not to be so hard on myself about it all...

Thanks again!!! It means a lot that you took the time to answer my post... I appreciate all the input from other mommys on the board... :-)

See...I knew that when I opened my mouth it would backfire!  LOL!!  Aethyn REFUSED to eat dinner!  He kept spitting it out and throwing it on the floor!  He did drink his yogurt milk though!  Glad you are feeling better about it today!  It could be because of his teeth like you said...Aethyn does that too when he is cutting teeth!  He just cut another one on top last week and that maybe why he is doing better this week!  Just stick with what works for you and Zander!  He won't let himself starve!
