Daycare Woes/Vent of the Day
THANK YOU so much sweet Holly......
Your story is heartbreaking....it makes me SICK....and scared to death....but thanks for sharing....
There have been other numerous drama events at this daycare so I think it is time to move on. I hope the other places have openings. There are such long waiting lines for some daycares around here. I cannot wait any longer. I have to take care of Nathan and his safety. When Nate gets here he may just have to watch him at home for a bit anyway. We will see.....
Thanks for taking time to share your story and post...I appreciate it...and of course YOU! :)
xoxo,
Ann

You are NOT overreacting. I worked in daycares for 6 years before having Dylan and becoming a stay at home mom. I worked in the infant room and the pre-toddler room (12 months to 24 months old). We had to document EACH and EVERY incident that happened, even if a mark didn't result right away because the parents could get the kids home and something show up in the evening.
You need to get some good answers on to what happened. Daycares cost too damn much money for crappy services. And the one thing that bugs me from your statement (if I have all my info right) is that Nathan is 11 months old and you had to get him out of a swing when he was the only child there?? That girl should have been giving her undivided attention to Nathan, playing with him and reading to him, etc. And if Nathan was asleep, he should not have been in a swing. The daycare I worked for was nationally certified and swings and exersaucers were not allowed because it's too easy to stick infants in them and not interact.
You are Nathan's mom and need to feel comfortable where he goes to daycare.
Good luck! :o)

Thank you so much Stacy.....I appreciate your insight....
They have no cameras....I have only found one place around here that has them...ugh....but I agree.....they would have been able to tell me that....
Great observation on the 11 month old in a swing....that bothered me too...when I pulled up I actually saw her putting him in there so I know it was not long but still...I think she was too worried about getting out of there....Nathan was the last one and often is one of the last ones due to my work schedule and being a single mom right now....but still, NO EXCUSE....one other lady (not associated with this incident) came in to check on Nathan too and she said "Nathan is so active and he moves everywhere, we should just keep him in the bouncy and swing"....I just was reminded of that now that you said that...I will bring that up with the Director too....ugh...he is 11 months and needs more stimulation than putting him UP.....
The sad part is that there are two really great ladies that I love in the room...one reads to him right when I get there....she plays on the floor with the kids, etc. The other ones I think are too busy just feeding and changing diapers....no stimulation.....
I will start my new daycare search on Monday....I am getting all of the names of places to call and my questions again this weekend...
Thanks again for taking time to give me some feedback...I appreciate it greatly Stacy!

Another thing, Ann. Do they have camera's?? They should. And if they do, and you aren't getting any answers on what happened to Nathan, ask to view the tapes. That should be a giveaway on what is going on. If they don't want you seeing them, maybe you should pull Nathan out.
I am not trying to freak you out, but there are so many shady daycares out there and I would hate for something worse to happen to your baby.

your better then me... i would have flipped.... i mean really... bumps and bruises are to be expected... after all boys will be boys... but for them to not know what happeneed... how much other crap are they missing... i wish you lived closer you could send him here... not sure that would help LOL.. jayson has been known to knock a few kids down LOL
I felt like I flipped....I have never been like that with them...I have had a pretty long week and was a little stressed but am tired of the **** there....there has been more but I have pushed it away for now as this daycare was safe (at least I thought) and was convenient to me with work and me just being single mommy.....but it has to change....
Yea, Nathan I do not think has learned to fight back....Jayson may beat him up...lol
He is still sleeping....he is so tired.....he gets that way on the weekends as I do not think he sleeps enough during the week at daycare.....ugh....
Thanks again my friend! Wish we lived closer too....
