Sensitive cervix....bleeding

So to anyone who had or has a sensitive cervix with spotting throughout pregnancy, does it get worse as you get further in pregnancy?  I just pushed a tiny bit for a non-existant BM, really not more then I would normally, and got a good tablespoon of red blood.  It is more then I have in the past for sure.  I have been spot free except the last week or 2 though I am starting to wonder if it has something to do with my normal cycle as it seems to happen about every 2-3 weeks that I have a bit of bleeding.  I have been checked more times then I can count (including last week) via ultrasound and everything is fine, Dr just said I have a sensitive cervix.  Anyone else in this boat or am I down the river by myself in this one?

This may be a dumb question but is it possible that you have hemrhoids or an anal fissure?

Nope, this is a 6 month old issue now, been for my entire pregnancy and that was the first thing people asked me, but I don't really have issues with BMs anymore.  It seems any type of pushing can cause it to happen and it is definately vaginal.

oh ok...just asked because I am having that problem right now...in fact 4 am this morning i was bleeding from the rhoids that have appeared and it always scares the mess out of me when I see it but hopefully they are getting better.

I have no idea...but I hope you have an understanding dr who lets you take a peak at your little bean often just for mental reassurance.  I can only imagine how scary it is having this continually happening.

Thanks guys.  Yeah she is really good about it.  Now-a-days it is just routine to me to see blood occasionally but this seemed like a lot to me.  It of course stopps right away and is nothing but it is a bit unnerving on occasion.

If you are used to a certain amount and this is more than call your doctor.  Have him answer your questions and get your self reassured that everything is alright.  You don't need mental stress on top of everything else you are going through pregnant.  Just let him/her know that it is more than usual and you just want to know everything is alright.

Good luck.

Hi Amanda--

Sorry to hear about your sensitive cervix. Back when I was going through the IUI's, etc., I had various nurses and doctors tells me that mine too was sensitive. One nurse said if she even looked at it, it would bleed! Another nurse called it "angry-looking." For reasons unknown, it has been completely normal during the actual pregnancy...only spotted lightly on two occasions after intercourse, very early on. Other than that, it's been fine.

Anyways, I hope that the sensitive cervix doesn't cause you too much panic and that the remainder of your pregnancy is enjoyable!

I had this issue during my pg 7 yrs ago.  Except instead of the occasional spotting red, I would gush like a cycle.  It can be disconcerting, but my finally stopped in the 7th or 8th month.
