MTHFR
When I went to the doctor yesterday, they said it came back that I have MTHFR. When I told my husband, he thought I was cussing him out. What MTHFR basically is, I have a blood clotting disorder. The reason I lost my baby is because I developed a blood clot and that kept nutrients from getting to the baby.
I was given the go ahead to start TTC. So you can put me back on the TTC list. Right now, I have to take a baby asprin a day. The minute I get a BFP, I am to call the doctor and they will put me on lovenox (sp?) injections.
My husband and I have decided that if I get pregnant again and keep it, then that will probably be it. I told the doctor that the child I have will probably be an only child. She told me not to jinx myself, I may have twins. My answer, BRING THEM ON!!
That is my update. Hopefully, I will have another update before the end of the year to be put on the baking list.
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

I pray that the drs have found the answer to why you had your miscarriage and that the baby aspirin/injection combo works for you. I also have MTHFR (the hetero mutation...which is half the genetic mutation)...as well as a few other genetic clotting mutations, though I have never had any clotting problems. The drs lean a little more towards thinking my miscarriags are due to hormonal issues rather than clotting...but I take two baby aspirin a day, 5,000 mg of folic acid a day, and when/if I get pg again, will have daily injections also...in addition to hormone supplements.
I hope things go as planned and you have to begin your injections over the holidays! Good luck.

I have 2 clotting disorders that were discovered at the begining of this pregnancy. I have Factor V Lieden and low protein S. First doc started me on baby asprin but second doc said best to do lovenox. Started lovenox once a day at about 14 weeks and now at 30 weeks was switched to heparin 2 times a day. At 37 weeks I will be induced so that I can stop the heparin in time and then give me some meds to help me clot and all. This pregnancy has been good. I think everything can turn out wonderful and I am hoping everything is great for you!! The shots and all are not so bad. Luckily though my hubby does them for me. I have given friends shots and all but to do one for myself I could not do so my hubby has been great to do it for me.
I hope you get a BFP soon!!! I will be thinking about you!!!
