Glucose test tomorrow

Quick question: My Dr told me to just eat breakfast and then wait a while then come in and do blood work. So what's a good breakfast to eat before hand? How long do I wait? I know I should have asked the Dr but it's been 4 weeks since I was told to do it.

Are they just testing your blood after you eat or do you have to drink that stuff?  Usually they like to test after meals at one hour and/or two hours.  They usually do a fasting test as well.  Not sure if any of that helps, but it's my two cents worth for the night.  Good luck tomorrow.

I just did mine last Saturday...they said you didn't have to fast....so I had a 1/2 cin raisin bagel and some diet coke....just got my results back...I am at the cut off...140...so now I have to have the 3 hour one. 

I am waiting for my next appt to talk to the dr b/c it was ALL I could do to drink the 10 oz of glucose drink in the 5 minute time frame....it made me so sick.

After you drink it, you have to wait an hour and then they take some blood.  Apparently the 3 hour one you have to fast for....then drink the stuff...then wait, test....wait, test...soemthing along those lines.
