milk, fish,peanut butter,ducks and paint
im starting to switch jayson to milk.... do i put scoops of formula in the milk part or just the water?
fish?..when?
peanut butter?... is this more of an allergy thing or a choking thing?...he has had no signs of allergies to anything ever
i think he is giving me a run for my money or some serious pay back for when i was little... we went to lunch yesterday and sat outside because it was so nice... he insisted on feeding the ducks... they bit him twice...damn ducks!
and today... we were doing arts and crafts.... i turned around to put the news on... his whole mouth was blue.. i thought he was choking... nope... he ate the paint....
Peanut butter is a choking thing, though I do give it to Sydnie. She eats pb&j BUT I spread it VERY thin. And she's good about drinking if her mouth gets too dry.
Not sure on the fish, but I know that Gerber (I think it's Gerber...maybe Beechnut) 3rd stage baby food has one with salmon and rice. I've tried giving fish to Sydnie, but no matter what kind it is, she always ends up tossing it off of her plate and onto the floor.
I hope the ducks didn't hurt him. My grandpa had a goose that used to chase everyone around biting them, he was a mean thing. The duck, not my grandpa.
That picture is just too cute for words. It's been 5 years since I've had a toddler and had forgotten what it was like. Ah...it's all coming back to me now.

"Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference. "
It sounds confusing, but it always worked for me.
As far as the peanut butter, it is more for allergies. Peanut allergies are such a serious issue anymore, I waited until at least 18 months with my 2 1/2 year before I even chanced it.
Fish, I waited until at least a year. Then I went with the soft types of fish, with no chances of bones.
Paint....just wait! There will be far worse things he will eat!!!

I would say Savannah was 2 yrs old before I gave her PB. She was eating fish by 10-11 months

Great title - love it!!
I wanted to add my 2 cents on the fish thing – we started giving Paige EVERYTHING (except honey) when she was 12 months old. As soon as she turned one we took her out for sushi, of course I didn’t let her try deep water fish and only a taste of shell fish, I don’t have a reason there – it just felt right, but she ate salmon sashimi like there was no tomorrow… and she still does. I read that from the time they eat whole foods you have 12 months to continually expose them to new foods – foods of all kinds, colors, textures, and tastes… so we did. Paige will be 4 on Christmas and if you ask her her favorite foods she’ll say; “salmon, fairy trees (asparagus), and broccoli" – THAT’S AWESOME. We rarely order off the kids menu for her because she’d rather have what we’re eating, she eats the crusts, she doesn’t care if it’s wheat or white, and she’ll usually choose fruit over any candy you offer her. I wish I had eating habits like hers. I totally think it’s the parents influence because there are things I have made mistakes on that she won’t eat – I am lactose intolerant so if it’s not Carnation Instant Breakfast (her morning “coffee"), she won’t drink regular milk and she won’t eat yogurt. I also read that you have to introduce a food 16 times before a baby/child can decipher if they actually don’t *like* something vs. if they are uncomfortable with the new texture, smell, or color. On her sticker chart we have spaces for “trying new foods" and since she loves getting those darn stickers she’ll try almost anything – she had broiled sea scallops and Lobster Bisque a couple nights ago (and liked it). I just encourage you to open your kids mind and mouth to as much as possible.

My sister-in-law is struggling with peanut butter. Her ped is telling her THREE YEARS OLD. My youngest nephew is almost 2 and she really wants to give him PB.
Don't know if the fear is allergies or choking......but I didn't tell her when I was babysitting my older nephew (he'll be 5 in Jan.) I gave him honey roasted peanuts at about 18 months old.... OOOOPPs. (He liked them!)
Thanks for sharing the pic and stories!
