Belly size

I've been googling around at various 13 weeks baby bump images. It just doesn't make sense. I've still got some tummy chubb. As much as I really want to wear maternity clothes and claim my bluge as pregnancy related, I feel like it's just FAT. My muffin top has gotten bigger and I'm telling myself it's because my innards are being pushed up to make room for my expanding uterus, but I still feel like it's too soon to claim pregnant roundness and start wearing maternity clothes. My jeans are definitely tighter despite the fact that I haven't gained anything.

So many of the pix I've looked at, the women are clearly pregnant at 13 weeks. Is it really that obvious?

I don't understand why in the pix, women's tummys are looking rounded already when the uterus is still well below the navel.

Someone just tell me to shut it already.... Everyone's body is different. I just wish I had something to compare to!

As the baby and uterus grow, your other organs will be pushed higher.  I am carrying the baby very low at this point but have a huge belly above my belly button.  A lady at work the other day was trying to rub the baby and I told her she'd have to rub much further south unless she's trying to rub my liver, stomach, etc.  It isn't uncommon for us to get a B shape instead of a D shape belly.  I have noticed if I wear one of my maternity cami's or belly band, it smooths out the shape and looks much cuter.  With my first baby, I never got a bump.  Most people just thought I was getting chubby again.  This one is a little different.

At 13 weeks I was definitely not showing.  I can't really say that I've seen someone who was 13 weeks pregnant with a 1st baby that actually looked pregnant.  By around 16-20 weeks you can most of the time tell if someone is pregnant.  But, as you mentioned everyone is different and will carry a baby differently.   I have seen some that you could not tell they were pregnant until 30+ weeks.  If you want to wear your maternity clothes go for it....you are pregnant anyway!  Who cares if you don't have a huge bump!   Also look into the Motherhood Secret Fit maternity pants they will really round your belly out in the early months if you don't have a huge bump.  I loved them!

I just recently had people start asking when I am due. I still wear a lot of regular clothes even now. I have a bump but even when I wear regular clothes its not even obvious. This is my 3rd baby going to term also so everyone thought I would show early. Nope. Still pretty small and my baby girl is low so that does not help so much. :) It will happen.

Even with my first pregnancy when I weight the least 180, I did not show until I was around 20 weeks. The belly above my belly button is getting bigger to. I have put on a whole 3 pounds. I do cheat and put on my spanks and it make my belly look as though I am pregnant. I am still wearing normal clothes. With my third child I did not show until almost 30 weeks. I weighed 250 pounds when I became pregnant with and gain not 1 pound. Once I did start showing holly cow I was huge.

I am 9 weeks and while I am no where near showing my jeans are uncomfortable. I was a 14 pre-pregnancy and had a few pairs of 18s that I was wearing until about a week ago - now I live in my maternity pants. I think it is more that the snug waist and button dig in and make me uncomfortable.

I guess it just depends.  I am very short (5'3) so my Dr. told me my uterus has no where else to go.  I have a pretty good bump right now.  Actually someone who didn't know I was pregnant asked me how far along I was today!

lol that's a cute way to put it. I'm 5'4". This is my second. I don't think I'm showing but I can definitely tell my abdomen is changing.

I'm wearing maternity pants for the first time today and OH-M-G I wish I would have started a few weeks ago!!! I feel like I'm wearing sweatpants at work they're so comfy!!! No more waistband digging into me! My jeans that were starting to get loose from weight loss were becoming snug (only around the waist) and when I sat down I'd have to unbutton them.

I'm getting a bella band in a couple of days. Hopefully that'll help too.

Im only 7 weeks and have definite roundness and hardness . I think in my case it's because i'm so small  -  I lost 130 lbs (went from a size 24 to a 2/4) and had almost all my skin bounce back except for my bat wings - this pregnancy is going to All belly and i'm fine with that. And even though i'm early and it's not *really* baby showing, to me it is and i'm working it!

So, shut it already, quit comparing yourself and enjoy your bump!!

I was in maternity clothes at 14 weeks with my singleton.  Go to www.baby-gag.com and look at the "calendar girls" and find your week.  :-)  You'll see tons!
