Can the fill needle reach the uterus?

Ok, I'm a little freaked out here. My surgeon said, I don't need to get any unfills if I don't need them and hopefully I won't, but if I do I'm a little concerned that the fill needle can harm the pregnancy. It's such a long needle and my port is right above my belly button. My doctor usually has to push around a bit and poke a few times to find the port. Has anyone heard about complications from this or if I'm freaking out for no reason? I really hope I won't need an unfill as my band isn't that tight anyway, I like to keep it a little looser.

I am not a doctor, but honestly....... If the needle poked your Uterus, even if you weren't preggo, you would have problems. Anatomically, it's a non issue.

Hope this helps.

Your Port is NO WHERE near your uterus... and if you are that worried please ask your doctor to explain where it is located and how it affects you...

I saw your post in the other thread. Your uterus doesn't come above your navel until you're around 20 weeks. If you need an unfill, it'd most likely be before then and due to nausea. If you're worried, go ahead and have a slight unfill done to be safe.

I really don't want to have to get an unfill, but I'm just a worrier so I wasn't sure if later on in my pregnancy when my uterus is bigger if it would be an issue. But I guess not.

Not likely. It'll be a good long time before your uterus is near your belly button. Plus,  have you ever seen the needles they use for amniocentisis? They are LOOOONG.
