Hi everybody,
We are just starting ttc, and because my cycle is a bit weird, I was going to try an opk.  Are they worth the money and do they help when you don't have a consistant schedule?

My cycles are pretty regular and I still found them helpful.  You have to follow the directions very carefully.  Test at the right times and make sure your urine isn'****ered down.  Since your cycles are irregular, you might want to buy them in bulk like I do because you'll probably want to test starting earlier in your cycle.

 You can find tons of them on eBay in large lots.  Usually they come bundled with EPTs but you can also get them separately.  They aren't fancy like the ones you buy in the store...you won't get a smiley face or a cute little egg symbol when your LH surge happens but they do work.  It's your basic "two lines" test.  Control line and then a test line.  If the test line is as dark or darker than the control line, you should ovulate in 24-48 hours.

I also found them helpful. My cycles range anywhere from 28-32 days, and sometimes I ovulate as late as Day 18, so they were helpful. I don't to the E-bay thing, but I did find some on Amazon. They were around $12 and came with 25-30. We TTC's two months, with the second month taking. they aren't super fancy, but I did get a definite surge. Good luck!!

We TTC for 4 months unsuccessfully then used an OPK and got pregnant the 1st time!
Otherwise, I had crazy 35 day cycles and no clue when I O'd.
