Help - Foods to make/freeze for after delivery...

Does anyone have any good recipies for foods I can make now and store in the freezer for after the girls are born?  I've never been a "make and freeze" kind of girl but I'm thinking with 4 kids, I'll be needing this.  Crock Pot recipies would be helpful too!

Thanks in advance!

I do brown a large amount of hamburger meat, cool down, then freeze in little containers. That way I just pull a small amount out for pasta sauce, sloppy joes, sheppards pie, and etc.

Also, I cook on a Saturday a large crockpot of soup and freeze most of it for a meal down the road. I do the same with pasta sauce. I make it homemade and then put it into smaller servings and I get about five meals out of a batch of it.

Here are some website I look for recipies for freezing. The last link has recipies.

Ooh!  Good idea on the browned beef.  I usually cook a pound at a time and use it twice in a week but never thought of freezing it!  Thanks!!

I'll check out the other sites too!

I have some serious left-over phobias, but I made a huge batch of Southwest Cheesy Taco Soup, Crockpot Chili and Cornbread, and homemade mac-n-cheese.  Froze them in 4-person quantity and was sooooo glad I did.  Yum-yum, now I'm hungry!

My husband won't eat left-overs either!  My cousin brought over a cheesy taco soup when I had Kellen and we loved it.  So I plan on making/freezing that too.  And same with the chili.  I totally forgot I had a great mac-n-cheese recipe!  Thanks for reminding me!

Not sure what type of foods you  like to eat, but I just did a meal marathon and made tons of meals!  Some of them were Lasagna (I buy the smaller aluminum pans so I can throw it away when we are done-I also use the oven ready noodles so I don't have to pre-cook them), I made stuffed ricotta shells, Chili, Shredded beef and Greek chicken.

Shredded Beef in Crook Pot:
Beef (Whatever cut you like)
Family size cream of mushroom soup
Onion
Mushrooms
Garlic
Salt Pepper

Cook all day in crock pot (6-8 hours) Then shred with forks! I serve it on a toasted bun W/ or W/O Cheese!

Greek Chicken:
Cut chicken into strips or chunks
Add Seasonings (I have a Greek seasoning that I like to use)
A little salt/pepper to taste
Grape tomatoes(I like to cut mine)
Greek Olives (Again, I like to cut them)

Freeze all these together in a freezer bag, then when you got to cook just throw it in a pan and coo****il chicken is cooked, then toss with Feta Cheese!

Hope that helps a little and can give you some ideas!

RebeccaS,

What crock pot setting do you use for the shredded beef?  Hi or lo for those 6-8 hours?   That recipe sounds good.  Is it really tender too?
