If you cook it for 6 hours, I do high, if you do it for 8 hours I do Low!  It is really tender! (also depends on the cut you use, but I have never had a problem and I have used different ones)  It is one of my favorites!  It doesn't start to fall apart until the end, so don't worry if it doesn't start to fall apart right away!

No, never heard of those.  Wonder if they are like Dinners Done Right?  I've done that before and we ate half of them and the family wouldn't eat the other half of what I made.  BRATS!  lol.

Thanks for the ideas!

I am picky - I prefer fresh cooked meals so my plan is a lot of bagged ready to go things to toss in the crock pot - we do this for my grandparents too - put all of the ingredients for a crock pot recipe in a gallon size ziplock bag and freeze - when you are ready to make it just cut the bag open and put the frozen contents in the crock pot and turn on!

Some of my favorites- pulled pork (pork roast, apple juice, salt and pepper)
beef stew
chicken with lemon and garlic
pot roast
salsa chicken (chicken and a jar of salsa)

As far as soups I make french onion, chicken soup (hubby can always boil noodles and add them later), cream of broccoli, italian wedding.

I have a friend that just had her second baby - she grilled a bunch of hamburgers and layered them between wax paper and froze - that way she could just nuke however many she wanted for dinner that night add cheese and slap on a bun (for the family)

Good luck!

i have fallen in love with the website recipezaar.com but there are plenty of recipe websites but everyday i am looking for new things to cook that will be tasty i just put crock pot in the search engine and get lots of recipes. i have started to do most of my cooking in the crock pot. i love it and it makes enough for me to store for my husband and i to take to work for our lunches and also use for future day meals... and i also agree the grounding the meat and freezing, i also do this with my ground turkey (learned from my mommy) :) and i also try to cook a week's worth of food on sundays... this cuts down the need to go to a fast food restaurant and saves time and money.... good luck
