Appt Update
My RE did an ultrasound and didn't see anything that alarmed him at this point. He did say that my uterus wasn't too thin which made him feel better (bleeding heavy for 10 days). He did look a lot at my left side and it did look different than the right. He was looking for blood in my belly and didn't see any.
So, he said go to Vegas and we will deal with it next week. He did a blood draw of HCG today to compare to yesterday for lab variance and just to see what it shows. He did do an ectopic blood screen as a precaution in case it is ectopic. He said at this stage it is hard to determine if it is just a miscarriage or an ectopic but that the HCG increasing after almost a week makes them nervous.
Next Monday I have another blood draw for HCG and then an ultrasound with the doctor on Tuesday.

Hi Tracy...sorry you are going through all of this.
It is possible to have ectopics that resolve themselves. My very first BFP acted like this (bleeding, followed by up down) and my HCG never got over like 150 I think. Then, at around what would have been 6.5 weeks pregnant, I miscarried completely. If your HCG numbers remain low, it is very possible that your body is trying to cut off blood flow to it and expel it on its own. If it is indeed ectopic, this would be the best possible outcome.
Most docs/REs start to worry if the HCG gets over 1000 when it comes to ectopics, as that definitely indicates growth and possible heartbeat at some point. So, as long as your HCG isn't skyrocketing, I would go to Vegas and have fun. But, if you start have severe abdominal pain, make sure you get to the ER.
Have a good trip and again I am sorry you are going through this.

Thanks Ann for your reply! They have me all set. My RE has two friends in Vegas that are RE's & OB's. So, his nurse said if I even have a question about a pain in my toe, to run it by her. My RE gave me his cell to call so he could call his physicians to see me if neede. He has just been great.
I think they were just worried since I was going out of town they wanted to look at me first. It made hubby feel better too. So, I just hope everything resolves itself and the bleeding and pain stop and then I can just move on.
I swear, some people have it so easy trying to have a baby. I just feel like it all just keeps dumping on me constantly. I know you have been through the ringer so I have nothing to complian about!

Sorry you're on this roller coaster of 'not knowing.' It sucks big time. You're dr sounds great, giving you contact info of someone he trusts in LV so you feel a little better being there. I hope you enjoy yourselves in LV.
