Update on Dr's appt....
The good news is I heard the heartbeat!!!!!! Nice, strong and fast!! It was so awesome!!!!
Bad news is the OB is pretty sure I'm getting the flu/swine, he said swine at first, but also said it could be seasonal flu. I have had low grade fevers for 2 days, I have been very dizzy for 2 days, and I have had a slight cough and sore throat. He told me the flu is VERY dangerous for pregnant women and wants me to start on Tamiflu. He told me there is nothing to suggest it can harm the baby.
I am concerned about taking the meds, but I spoke with the pharmacist and she said it's a Cat. C drug which is the same as most antibiotics. So I am starting it tomorrow. I never even considered the flu, but he said the flu always starts mild, but no one really pays attention until it becomes worse. But me being pregnant/paranoid I noticed the little things first, which he said was 2 points for me.
So the moral of the story is, call your OB when you think somethings wrong LOL.
Thanks ladies!
Karen

Oh my. Good thing they caught it early. I do not like what I have read about the flu in preggos, particularly H1N1.
I've heard lots of pregnant women saying the are taking Tamiflu and I haven't heard anything negative about it. I hear ya about being paranoid about taking anything, I'm the same way.
Today I emailed the property manager of my office and asked if the soap in the bathroom is antibacterial. Not that I think everyone actually washes their hands with soap but I'd feel better if it was at least in there. Stupid germs.

yea they actually think it's swine and not the seasonal flu.
Are you taking the tamiflu now?
How are you feeling?

So happy you had a good appointment. I had to take the tamiflu also. Had a flu shot myself then a week later my oldest got the flu so my OB put me on it just to cover us. Then the next week my youngest son got the flu too. Still none for me so they worked!! I think this week is my other flu shot so we will see how that goes.
