So I had my first u/s appt on Friday and it was amazing. The little bugger was partying in there. It was sumersaulting, backflipping, and bouncing around and finally after about 5 minutes it calmed itself down and started sucking on its toes. The tech tried to get a pic but I guess it wasnt comfy so it swaped its toes for its fingers and she got a pic of that one. Oh and I am amazing...somehow baby measured exactly where I was at the time..11 weeks 5 days. This u/s has relieved me of a lot of stress because of the fear that came along with my last two bouts of spotting. But because of this my doc gave me the RhoGamma shot early (I am RH negative..wateva that means)...straight to the booty and it hurt :( And I will have to get two more, one at 28 weeks and the other after delivery. But heres pics of baby...the second is it sucking its fingers.

Oh and this was really weird. I got my blood drawn about a two months ago by my surgeons office. A week later I got a call back from the n/p saying that my calcium was really low..only a 3. 4 weeks ago I got my blood drawn by my OBGYN's office and my calcium is just fine (kinda on the lower end but not low at all). I saw with my own eyes the results from my OB but only heard the number from the n/p (and we don't get along real well). The weird part now...I havent been taking ANY supplements between the two draws (I bought pills couldnt swallow them so was waiting for a liquid to come and it got screwed up in mailing so just recieved it) so how is it possibly that it has "bounced" back to normal all of a sudden. Any ideas I would appreciate.

Thanks for the support ladies.

COngrats on the awesome ultrasound!!

As for the calcium - the blood level of this are tricky, the blood will rob calcium from the bones to replenish the blood calcium levels. ( I confirmed this with a few friends who are medical professionals because I had the same issue) My blood calcium was slightly low - they think that it was just a bad sample. I did up taking it, I wasn't getting the pills everyday because they made me gag and I am feeling pretty crummy.

Congrats again!

Glad you had a great appointment but I don't see the pictures!  And what Liz said about the blood leaching the calcium from your bones is correct.  You should still take your calcium...however I should be taking my own advice also!

YAY for GREAT ultrasounds!!!

Beautiful baby photo, Simone!  I'm glad you can have some peace-of-mind now and I hope the next few appointments continue to put your mind at ease.
