Thank You Everyone !
It amazes me sometimes how much support and comfort comes from this board. We are from different backgrounds, countries and cultures and yet that never seems to matter here.
When I mention to people the stories on here.... the births and struggles and happy and sad moments... they look at me like I am crossed eyed for being so close to strangers.
And for as little as we know about each other and all our differences I think we're more friends than strangers.
So THANK YOU! Your thoughts and prayers and words are of tremendous comfort to me and my family !
This coming few years will be difficult -- hopefully my husband will get a kidney BEFORE he needs dialysis again. (But that's not likely)
The good thing is he is joking about it. He swears the donor of the kidney he has now must have liked saurkraut because he has always hated it until after the transplant and now he can't get enough of it.
He told me tonight he hopes his next kidney doesn't come from a nun because he'd miss sex too much. LOL.
And yes -- please donate your organs. My husband's donor was a 21 year old boy...died in a motorcycle accident. That's all we know. I wrote his family when Cooper was born to thank them... Cooper wouldn't be here today if it weren't for their son dying and their decision to donate his organs.
I promise to try not to get so mushy again for a while !!
Hope everyone had a good weekend !
Cindy

VERY, VERY, VERY well said....despite our differences we do have tons in common and I am thankful for the women on this board...I have learned a lot the last few years hanging around here....and appreciate the support too....
Cindy...you have been on my mind and in my prayers a lot this weekend so thanks for the update...I am very thankful that your hubby has a good optimistic outlook....you do too and that is half the battle in my opinion.....I pray that the kidney donor is not a nun or priest too :) (ok, I am Catholic and won't comment on the priest part...lol)
Please let us know how things are going and how we can support you.....you give so much here, let us give back....
Hugs,
Ann
