Some common terms:

TTC - trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD - the day of your menstrual cycle
O - ovulation
DPO - days past ovulation
LP - luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF - aunt flow ( your period)
PG - pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE - reproductive endocrinologist
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
CL - coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met - metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD - baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD - doing the deed
IUI - inter uterine insemination
IVF - in vitro fertilization
PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS - pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW - two week wait...time from ovulation until you can test for pg

Hi Shari-
I'm on CD40, still haven't had temps to confirm O... Last cycle AF came on CD48... So yes had appt with OB/GYN... Basically she wants to do a few lab tests on CD3.. And then the test to make sure the tubes are clear (I think Tracy said it was no big deal, but the dr said it hurts). To rule things out.. And also got referral for DH to be tested too... Talked about meds, she's more about Clomid than Metformin since I dont have PCOS...I'm a little nervous about meds since they incease risk of twins. She says I was lucky to have gotten pregnant right away when i did 10 years ago... Anyway she didnt seem ton concerned it hasn't happened yet, but basically said it's up to me what routes to go, etc.... So I guess I"ll just see what the rest of this cycle brings, and get the labs done if needed.

The tube test needs to be done on certain cycle days...so as soon as af comes call. I think it is by cd 10 or so...not sure. Also, I took motrin prior...the only time I have taken it since wls... and it did hurt and I did have some bleeding. I was glad my mom drove me because I was shaky. I don't mean to scare you...it is not that bad...but pretty uncomfortable. It is over quickly though. Then just some cramps for a few days. I am glad you are getting started towards something. Hopefully clomid will do the trick. Also, if hubby checks out okay, and you don't need iui's...then that might ease your mind about the multiples. It really isn't too high with clomid alone. I had the test to see if my tubes were clear last september. Everything was good down there for me...but the test did burn....but it didn't last long.

I also took clomid for three cycles, and had 2 iui's...didn't work for me but I know it works for alot of people!!! Good luck with everything and I hope you are pregnant sooon!

I know I am crazy - DH and I don't know how long it will take with his sperm count issues and we would like to be done before I get accpeted to nursing school whether it be sooner or later.

I am on CD23 took a First Response tonight - BFN so I am thinking this cycle is probably a bust....

I am so crampy - sucks it is just AF getting me ready for expected arrival on Wednesday!

I know that your DH and mine have similar issues - how long did it take you to get pregnant the 2nd time around?
