Home from Hospital AGAIN!
Hello ladies...
Well on Tuesday I had my regular weekly appt. for my U/S.... But that morning I woke up with
stomach cramps and feeling like crap..so I felt the urge to vomit and ran to the bathroom and coughed up that white slimmy stuff but this time it had blood in it, so I coughed up 4 more times and the same thing happened, I woke my fiance up to ask him to look at it I didnt want to think
I was seeing things, but he also said it was blood, so he rushed me to the ER.
Long story short they ended up admitiing me into the Labor and Delivery area so they can also monitor the twins. They thought I had a PE so they did a CT/Scan...Fiance didnt want me to b/c of radiation to the babies, but at the time thats what the doctors thought it would be best to do.
So thank God no Blood Clots were found and that was such a relief.
Ofcourse they stuck me with an IV and they took like 12 tubes of blood in the course of 2 days
and I got needle marks all over my hands LOL... hurts!!
But they did find the problem to my pains, they said a normal Iron blood count is like 12....Well mines was 6.9 and dropping last time I was told it had hit 6.3... Im light skinned and I was looking like Casper...neighboors kept telling me for weeks..Oh hunny you look so pale.
Oh you look terrible...(great I know)... whats wrong love? are you ok?
Nothing other than feeling dizzy, and weak... I felt fine.
I usually get lighter during the winter anyways so I just brushed it off.
But I was sooooooooooo sick that day and as I went to get up of the hospital bed I damn near passed out. I got IV Iron and b12 shot.
I was told if my Nov 2nd my scheduled C-Section my Iron levels were not good enough, that I would need a blood transfusion.
Thats pretty scary to me... I dont want anyone elses blood in me.
So im making sure to tripple my iron and I dont have to go back for another B12 shot until next month.
I finally was let go from the hospital OCT 8th out of all day on my 31st BIRTHDAY...LOL
My kids were happy to see me and I was so happy to see them.. and Fiance came home with some nice gifts so I had an ok time..wish I would have had some cake..lol.
Anyways im taking better care of myself and I hope everything works out.
One question...swollen feet.. I was told to elevate them as much as I can
but my left foot is way bigger than my right foot and it feels as if someone was squeezing the life out of it...what do you ladies recommend to aliviate the pain.
Thank you
Meleney

Hey Meleney, I was told the same thing. I have to get weekly iron infusions and they have helped out tremendously. I wasn't too keen on getting a blood transfusion either so I did everything in my power to up that iron. Supplements, liver & onions lol, but the transfusions are what did it mostly.
See if your doc can get you in to a hematologist to get a few treatments before you deliver. You'll feel 1000% better.

MAN!! I will stop complaining of being so uncomfortable now. WHAT AN ORDEAL! I'm glad they figured out what was wrong and are able to help you. What a relief!
I had the swelling in one foot with my last pregnancy. I was told that it happens when the uterus is pressing on that side of the body - try upping your water and lying on the opposite side. My swelling is starting up now too. My PANNI is swollen and painful!! Pumpkin is supposed to help greatly so thank goodness it's pumpkin season! LOL.
Hope you have a less eventful rest of your pregnancy!!

oh sweety...I am soooooooooooooooo sorry!!!! You are such a trooper..and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you got some nice gifts and taken care of.....you are almost to the end sweets!!!
Yes, put your feet up...they say to elevate your feet above your heart...although I always laugh at that...but the higher the better....drink TONS of water, lower salt intake....I have swollen feet without pregnancy so last year it was twice the pain....ugh...I hope you get relief soon....
I too have had blood transfusions...I was scared but all is good....your level is extremely low so please make sure you are doing everything right and it is incredibly a good feeling when it gets higher...so amazing....I do B12 shots at least once a month and do my multi Bs everyday....
Hang in there sweety...you are almost done baking!!!
xoxo

Hey hon. I know the idea of a transfusion is weird but it's really not too bad. I had to have one after my surgery when got a GI bleed. It's very well screened these days and very few people have issues with reactions. But, if it really bothers you, you can ask about a family donor so that they can get it from someone you know with the same blood type as long as it's a good match. As for the feet, elevate, limit salt intake, and drink lots of water. That's really all I can suggest. Good luck with the babies!
