when did everyone pop!
Well I am not sure if having surgery will affect this at all (and I am guessing it will because of weight gain issues with some) but when did you gals pop. I really dont want to gain too much weight but at this point and the way things are going it seems impossible that I will end up with a positive gain at all...I'm already down over 15lbs since I found out. But don't you need to eventually gain weight to get a baby bump? I know..this seems so superficial but this is my first and I am really excited and can't wait and I really want to take those pretty maternity pics.
Sorry I rambled.

My niece is about to have a baby any day now. She's NOT a WLS patient but has hyperemesis and has lost weight through her entire pregnancy but has a huge bump. She just lost it everywhere else but the bump and boobs grew. This is her at 37 weeks....she's 39 weeks now and even bigger.

You don't have to gain weight to have a baby bump. I only gained 2 lbs total. I had a pretty good bump at 17 weeks and a very large one by 37 weeks. If your short you will show sooner. I'm only 5' so that helped me. But, most women "pop" around 22-25 weeks.

I was saying everything you're saying now!! I haven't gained any weight yet and I've finally gotten a bump. I noticed a bump at 4 months. Others noticed after 5, and now after 6 months, I'd like to think you can't miss it. Like everyone else told me, it will happen! And just like you, I lost weight, twice actually, and now I'm back where I started. AND you're not being superficial, i felt the exact same way. You just want to enjoy the experience of motherhood... and you will!!

Well..the one thing about us WLS ladies is that we usually have a little or alot of extra skin and padding in the tummy area after losing all of the weight anyway. At least that is my case. I am 16 wks and I can notice the difference and feel the baby bump under all the extra. I am thinking that in another month or so, it will really be noticable to everyone else. I am definitely feeling round in the middle and I had to give up most of my regular pants and start wearing materninity pants and tops.
Don't worry...it will come!

I am 29 weeks and have not "popped" yet. My BMI is 38 and am also 6ft tall so I know those things plays a big part plus this is my first. People that know me can totally see it but when people find out in my office they are completely surprised because they couldn't tell. They are even more surprised when they find out my due date! It kind of sucks but I am also grateful because I am probably more physically comfortable this way. I'm betting I will pop in about 5-6 weeks once baby gets a bit bigger.
