DH/Bedroom concern

The other night, DH expressed a concern to me. He is having trouble with the thought of sex and the baby. He said he can't help but think about the fact that the baby is right there and likely being tossed around in the process. He also feels like he's poking the baby and just doesn't understand that the baby is not only behind the cervix but also in the uterus which is thick.

Any advice? Suggested reading for him?

So tell him- no problem, he doesnt have to have sex for the next year...I am pretty sure he'll get over it...or bring it up at an appointment with him there.   No serious advise sorry- we never had that issue, but i understand lots of couples do.

Baby is WELL cushioned ;) Let him know, that besides being in the uterus, there is also the bag of water. At this point the cervix is VERY thick. And, unless your having any bleeding, sex is completely safe. Avoid oral (TMI), any air in there can be harmful.

Tell him the motions actually calm the baby and can usually get the baby to fall asleep! I just read that somewhere.

I was the same way I was the nervous one about sex. So we waited till my second trimester. My hubby was like WHENEVER you want it I WANT IT!! hehe! Now after my second trimester I am a freak! I want it 6 times a day!!  I say its hormones! So if you want it and your hubs wants it DO IT!! I just asked my OB about sex last week and he said "Hunny if you can have an "O" and no bleeding or no uncomfortableness than MORE POWER TO YAH!" I was worried b/c after sex and I "O" my uterus contracts and gets hard, OB said that's FINE!! He said it's like giving the baby a little hug. I know I said alot but some women on here helped me out. Good Luck!!

I find it funny how men think they have such wonderful ability to get that far in to get to the baby. I think most men think that but golly if they saw how far they had to get and what all is protecting the baby then they would get it. I would have the doctor talk to him also at next appointment. Men can be so silly sometimes. :)  THIS includes mine too!

I took my husband to the OB and he asked and she said there is no way your penis is going to touch the baby ..lol those were the blunt words after going through the whole uterus thing  and bag of water and  blah blah  you know  he is a man and wasn't hearing that ...lol I know  very TMI but oral didn't hurt me during my pregnancy ..lol  the baby either. we just stopped doing it when it got real close but  the doc didn't tell us it was bad so hey !<<<<< didn't argue..lol
