Congrats!  And yes I think it is pretty normal... I didnt have an OB I was just using my regular family practitioner till I took a positive test last week... He refered me to the OB that birthed all three of his kids and who he likes a LOT... so I wander over there... expecting an apointment RIGHT AWAY... and they tell me NOVEMBER 6th... which will be week 10... I said well I am 35, thinking that would make a difference, it didnt, I told em I had an RNY, they asked when I told em 6 years ago, and she said... well you can come in and see the RN... or call the RN with any questions or concerns you have at any time... but there is no need to see the doc till the 10th week.

So although it might not be normal... for everyone... evidently the Docs that people "LOVE" are booked pretty tight and they hold off till there is something to see evidently...

Hope that makes you feel a little better.

Last time I saw the OB at 8 weeks for a Pap smear and an intake. Then the high risk OB at 11 weeks for the first ultrasound where they dected that I had a blighted ovum - no baby.

This time I demanded the OB do an ultrasound at 8 weeks - I go tomorrow!

Congratulations.  I hope this is a very sticky bean for you.

I don't have any info on when you should 'normally' get in to the dr...I live on the other side of the world and have my own 'special' little medical system...but from the other posts, it seems normal.  Me?  I'd be screaming the roof down...but I'm spoiled because of how quickly I get in to see drs here - usually same day I ask!

Good luck, and keep us posted.
