Birth control

Hi.  I need a little help.  I had my gastric bypass one week ago. I had my cycle one week before surgery.  I had my bypass on Tuesday and on Saturday I started my  cycle again.  What is the deal?  I am taking Seasonique and only have to worry about this every three months.  The surgeon and gyn said it was fine to take these.  Now I wonder if I should stop the pill and let it take its course or should  I continue taking them and let it work out.  I am just afraid it will never stop and it has to.  I do not need to have to deal with this now.  I wonder if it is from the Heparin.   Any advice would be appreciated? 

I definitely don't advise you to stop taking your birth control, in fact you want to make sure you use two forms of birth control because it can be very easy to get pregnant too soon after surgery.  Your body just went through a major surgery it is isn't uncommon to make your body a little wacked out.  Your cycle should normalize itself, it may take a few months though.

after my surgery my cycles went a little crazy for the first month or so... just make sure you are using BC, (we were told 2 forms) and you should be fine.

Some of the other ladies opinons will come I am sure, but I think some out of normal bleeding is pretty common with dramatic weight loss in the first 3 months...

I know like I said my cycles were wacko for a bit.

I was on the same bc before surgery because I wanted to avoid my period for a while post op. Well it totally back fired! I had a light period for over a month after surgery! I finally got a new script for regular bc and I stopped taking the Seasonique. Well in between we had an oops w/ the condom and now we're pregnant! lol!
