I had a sonogram yesterday and according to my last period I am like 10 weeks prego with twins...but they measured the baby's and said I'm only 6 weeks...this don't add up cuz the day of conception would be right when my period was due and I wouldn't have been feral then... plus we didnt do anything during that week... My question is do twins usually run a smaller size like this? or is things just messed up and am  I really am only 6 weeks? and info would help please...

thanks
Chrissy

Unless you had IVF (which you didn't) you are not going to be able to have an exact conception date.

My twins always measured right on target for their gestational age.   Twins will be smaller than a singleton.

Give it until your next sono to see where they are measuring.

Question: Since you know you're having twins - did anything in the beginning indicate twins? Like super high progesterone levels?

I just worried about things cuz I'm only like 6 months out from surgery...

Oh, I asked because my HCG levels coincide with how far along I am but my progesterone levels are double / triple what they should be at 6 weeks. No, never have taken progesterone supp.'s.The lab tech said from her experience in the OB practice this indicated twins. We'll find out next Tuesday at our US.

You may have ovulated later than you think.  And when it's fraternal twins, it's usually a blip/surge in your hormones that causes the two eggs to pop out.  I swear I ovulated for THREE WEEKS that month, swore I couldn't be ovulating anymore, had unprotected sexy-time, and surprise!  Twins only start to measure smaller when their room gets smaller and smaller towards the end.  Mine have been 50th % since day one and I'm 31 weeks now.

I had implantation bleeding with the twins and it was about a few days after I expected my period so I thought it was my period.  NOPE.  I just ovulated crazy that month!

Good luck!

You won't really know for sure unless they are boy/girl twins or after they are born and look different.  You can have a DNA test done if they look a lot a like too.
My twins don't share anything but a womb -separate sacs, placentas, cords, etc...but my OB said unless they were b/g twins, we wouldn't know for sure until they were born.  But I'm sure they are fraternal by the way I ovulated.  I mean, it really felt like 3 weeks of ovulation!

I knew when we had sex so I knew how far along I was.  They tried to go by my LMP and I told them it was wrong.  They didn't (never do) listen until the ultrasound came out that I was right.

Good luck!
