Call from OBGYN

So my appt with OBGYN was on 9/24 and I had blood work done the following Monday.  They called today because I am really low on vit D...not such a shocker, had gastric, don't obsorb, etc.  Called in a perscription that will take of that.  On the other note, she wanted to check my thyroid because it felt "large" during my visit.  And low and behold, it is acting up.  Anyone experience Hypo thyroid during pregnancy?  I have a perscription for that as well.  Ultrasound needed on that as well.  Just wanted to see anyone's experience; outcomes, any trouble, etc.

I am nervous because I don't know what to expect...since it's my first time expecting, so all this is new.

Thanks in advance-Stacey

Not sure about the thyroid, but I have struggled with the vitamin d thing for awhile. The script they probably gave you is probably for an oil based pill....50,000 iui of d-3 once a week. That never worked for me, didn't absorb it. So, with my doctors blessing I switched to vitalady's tender d-2 dry 50,000 and that is helping a lot. Just food for thought if your levels don't rise. Good luck! Shari

Congrats mommy to be.....

Not sure on the Vit D...but I have thyroid issues...have had for several years.....they watched my thyroid closely during pregancy...all my TSHs were good....I have read that things could get out of whack during pregnancy...hope yours doesn't....

Otherwise, how was the visit?

other than that news....my visit went well.  I will just play this thyroid issue by ear to say and try not to get too nervous.  I have had a pretty good pregnancy so far...not too much morning sickness; no bleeding, minor cramps...so if this can be controlled by medication; what's one more pill when your already taking 6 a day......right?

Thanks for the inquiry!  Stacey

Good attitude!!! The good thing is if it is thyroid it is controllable....and yea, I am with you on pills....when I was pg I had to stop everything but my vits, synthroid and once in awhile my water retention pill....

Hang in there and let us know how it goes!
