Rants and Worries

Well I am almost 27 weeks and time is just flying by. My baby shower is Nov 15th and I will be 32 weeks along. I am EXCITED/ NERVOUS for the future. This is our first baby and I am soo worried I won't have all the stuff needed for her. Her nusery is done we finished it before my hubby went to military training last month so that's done. We still need get bedding and stuff for it but walls are painted, borders up. Rocker/gliders in, dressers finished, and changing station and beds up. Now it's just the little things more diapers, burp clothes, matteress pad, changing pad,etc stuff like that you get it. Oh and more big things swing, bouncy seat, high chair still has to be gotten. My mom said it will all happen just calm down. I am a planner but we have to save to buy stuff and right now we are trying to payoff stuff. I am SOOOO EXCITED don't think I am not I am just a planner and I would normally have had all this stuff months ago. So for now I am going to enjoy this very active blessing in my belly. B/c she is coming and I know "things" don't matter to her just mommy and daddy's love Oh and diapers hehe!! I know things will get done (that's what I am going to keep telling myself). Who else is feeling like me? Any thoughts/suggestions??

Congrats on being 27 weeks! WOW!! I would wait until after your shower to get nervous about the "I don't haves..." I am sure that you will receive a bunch of what you are worrying about! Not that I am speaking from personal experience but I've been to plenty of baby showers lol

Here's my 2 cents for what they are worth. 

I waited until after my shower to get stuff that needed to be purchased.   You never know what you are going to get until that day.  

You could buy all the stuff you think you are going to need and you are not going to need half of it.  You are also going to be running out to the story (well maybe no you, but someone will) a million times once the baby arrives.  Trust me, it will happen.  LOL  

You are not going to know which diaper brand works for you until after the baby arrives.  Burp clothes, just when you think you have purchased enough, buy 20 more on top of that.  

The high chair, we didn't even buy those until the twins were getting ready to eat solids which was around 6 months.  You have plenty of time for that. 

You can try and plan until the cows come home, but with kids plans always change.  

I second what Julie said - I got way to much stuff at my shower and seriously didn't use half of it. There are some great things but in my opinion a diaper genie is a waste of money. We have a bag on the porch and we put the diapers in that, then when we go to the dumpster we just throw it in with the trash and bada bing...LOL Good Luck girl its a *****allenging with DH in the military but you can and will get through it.

I won't tell you to chill out or calm down....or the new mommy jitters, worries, rush or anything.  Why?  Because I'm on my 3rd child/pregnancy and still have all the same feelings as you, and you're a 1st time mom.  I think it just depends on you're personality.  I'm a step by step, by the book planner and worry wart.  That's never went away for me with any of my pregnancies.  Just try and enjoy the time you have left being pregnant......

It will all work out in the end....that I know for sure....

I have all the same worries! Because of money we seriously have nothing ready yet! I just keep telling myself that I will get most of what we need at the showers but I am still worried! We just got a crib this weekend and put it together. That was fun! We only have about 1 drawer of clothes, bibs, socks, receiving blankets, etc. I just hope it all comes together in the end! Time is going by so fast!

Wow Jessica - I can't believe you're already 27 weeks - time is flying. I completely second what Julie said. Don't run out and buy things. I was the same way you were, worried about not having everything in time, etc. But I ended up getting literally EVERYTHING I wanted at my baby shower. Once Drew arrived, I realized half of the stuff I'm not even using yet. Really all they need are bottles (if you're bottle feeding,) diapers, whipes, and clothes. Wait to see what you're going to get. Granted you can never have too much, but I had a coupon for baby wash, so I went and bought like 5 bottles of it - then got like 10 at my shower.

For the time being, just relax and enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy because before you know it Isabella will be here and you'll have time for nothing :-)
