question about being sick while pregnant

Alright so the Dr said that I am in the early stages of bronchitis. I am on the amoxicillin - 6 doses down now (3x a day for 10 days). I stayed home from work today to rest because I still wasn't feeling well and I am trying not to take anything. Well I am taking tylenol every 4 hours as reccomended to keep the fever at bay. Well I get to about 3 hours and the fever is about 99 - if it isn't better in the morning I will call the Dr back - per his instructions. I would guess that a temp of 99 isn't hurting the baby right?? But if it gets any higher I will call the Dr right away.

No, that's not hurting the baby.  In fact, I ran a temp of 99 (I'm normally 97.6) for the beginning of my pregnancy and I wasn't sick.

Fever is the bodies way of fighting illness so it can be a good thing.   Obviously a fever above 102 would require some Tylenol, etc. but at 99, I probably wouldn't take it.   That's just me, I'm not a Dr. so just go by what your Dr. is telling you.

According to the what to expect when your expecting book it is 102 for a couple of days. I would still call your doc though.

Thanks ladies. I am pushing the fluids and thinking a cool shower might help some. I have to touch base with the Dr anyway tomorrow for my lab results so I will mention it to him.

Thanks as always!!

My temp has been 99.0-99.5 since week 6.  It's normal if your preggo to have a higher temp.

right a 99 fever isn't hurting anyone, including you.  Myself, I'd lay off the tylenol unless the fever goes back over 100.5

I hope you feel better.  I've been fighting off a variance of sickness for 8 days now.  from the first days of headache/tiredness to the day of stomach issues to the last few days of a sinus something that is killing me.  ugh.

OK thanks - I'll stop the tylenol and see what happens then. I only took it twice today because I kept falling asleep when I needed to re-dose.

My temp usually runs low (thyroid issues) so "normal" for me -prepregnancy is in the low 97's. So far with this pregnancy my afternoon temp runs around 98.

THanks again
