High Progesterone levels in early 1st trimester ??

So, according to the 1st day of my last menst. cycle method  I am 5 1/2 weeks BUT just had Beta HCG levels drawn yesterday (650!) and the ranges say i'm 3 weeks +/- ..

However; my progesterone levels are already at 50! The lab tech said she usually sees this in cases of multiple preganancies (twins?). Does this sound about right? 

And why does everyone keep asking me if i'm taking progesterone?     
I only take pre-natals and Celebrate calcium.

Maybe it's twins! lol!  I do not know how old you are, but the older you get, the more chance you have of having twins because you can release more eggs during ovulation!

Your numbers are good. If you are not taking progesterone supplements then a 50 could mean that you ovulated more than 1 egg. A lot of gals here that have struggled with fertility or miscarriage are put on progesterone either post o or post +pg test to help sustain their pg's...but I don't think you need to worry with those numbers. Will they do a follow up in a couple of days? Shari

I was for sure they would re-draw in a day or two but the nurse just told me she'd see me in 10 days for US - she said progesterone levels of up to 90 were "normal" for my stage of pregnancy. Really??

Sure. And my Ob didn't do a redraw either with good numbers, so that is common too. I guess it just means you are supposed to relax and enjoy the early pg! Congrats. Shari
