I am a mean mommy.....

Cooper has his first official cold.  It is sad to see him unable to breath through his nose.  Now when I lay him down to change his diaper he looks at me with terror in his eyes because he thinks I am going to put saline up his nose and suck out his boogers.  Poor baby ! 

He has no fever.... just congestion and a little dry cough so no need for a doctor, right?  Any tips on getting the boogies out?  It doesn't seem like I get many out even with the saline. 

So he's not feeling well....and his daddy puts him on the reliner "just for a minute" while he goes to get something and Cooper FALLS OFF THE CHAIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Now mean mommy has to shine lights in Cooper's eyes to make sure his pupils dialate, wake him up every couple of hours to check on him, etc.   He seems okay....  hope he doesn't have some lasting brain damage! 

At least he was baptized.....  maybe that will save him from falling and boogies !   My son looked so pretty in his Christening Gown.... one that is 70 years old and was worn by his dad and grandpa.  Too bad dressed in all that lace and ribbon I realized Cooper would make a very pretty girl!  I told him it was the last time he's allowed to wear a dress.

Poor baby!!  Hope he's feeling better soon!  I just used the snot sucker on him.  He hated it but it had to be done.

Go to walgreens and get a powered booger sucker! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PBFWMO Scarlett was all stuffed up a couple of weeks ago so I splurged.  It was the best thing for her.  Also Vicks makes a waterless vaporizer that I plugged in right next to her crib at night.  It helped her sleep and kept her pretty clear.  Hope this helps!  Poor baby

Love that you chose the name Scarlett!  That's my sister's name, and you don't hear it very often.  In fact, I have only met one other Scarlett in my life.  I think it's a beautiful name.

And a funny coincidence...Olivia will be on our short list for girls' names as my hubby's grandmother's name was Olive.

Do you have a cool mist vaporizer?  That always helps when Hannah has a cold.  We run it at night and the babysitter runs one during the day.  Also they make a baby's vicks.  I've only remembered to use it once, but it may be worth trying.

He is beautiful!  Both of my boys had frequent congestion when they were little due to allergies.  They quickly became gunshy with the sucker.  I found that (carefully) using a q-tip wet with warm water was often helpful.  Hope he feels better soon!...Natalie

I friend of mine use to tell me that they survive inspite of us, not because of us. It really help me. When my nine year old was a baby he slid of the couch and hit his head. He survived and is very smart.

Yeah, I've heard that you're a mean mommy from Cooper before, so I'm not surpised. Just kidding!

Oh my, Jantzen just had his first "fall".

Johnny was changing his diaper on our bed, he turned to his left to reach for the wipes he left on the dresser, and the little booger did his famous "scoot" and down he went. And Johnny was standing right there...........

Jantzen cried, Johnny actually cried. (have never seen that) I was just getting home after class when it happened.

Jantzen is fine, mommy is fine, Daddy was/is a mess. He is so upset and heartbroken. I told him it happens.

As far as boogies..........just the suction thingy. but it sucks to do it cause they always scream like you are hurting them.
