Okay, it's the age old problem of weight gain and pg.  I was 35 lbs from goal when I got pg... I was hoping to maintain and not really gain but I have gained 25lbs so far... so now I am 60 lbs from goal again..

How do I get back on track.. .I feel lost and know I shouldn't.  Part of the problem was with my incompentent cervix and cerclage I was told to quit my exercise routine and just take it easy....

Any ideas... I know my eating hasn't been steller but 25lbs... eeekkk....

Humm, and you haven't hit the part where you usually really start packing on the pounds last month or so...I don't know what your exact restrictions are- but I say if your allowed to walk, walk, walk.  Keep active other then true exercise workout, and TRY to watch the eating (believe me I am no shining star)  Also remember that every-ones body is different.  There are lots of people who have put on 30/40/50 plus pounds and have had healthy pregnancy and lost the weight after.  Keep motivated after baby and be healthy.

Hello there!  I just wanted to say that I am in the same boat that you are.  I am 25 1/2 weeks pregnant and I have gained 20 pounds!!!  Now I was below my goal weight when I got pregnant but jsut the thought of gaining this much weight has me freaked out.  Will I ever lose the weight again???  The fears of being obese again (I feel are always going to be with me.)  But my OB is not worried about the weight gain and just wants me to keep eating and drinking plenty of water.  Hey, maybe after our babies are born we can get back on track together!!!

Good luck and keep us posted on the pregnancy!

It helps to know that I'm not alone on the weight gain.  I've been tracking what I eat and I know it's a little too much but not 25lbs worth.....  I would love to have a loss buddy after the baby.  My ob isn't worried either my blood pressure and sugar and in check so he is fine with the gain.

Good luck to you too.

Sorry I can't help you, but I wish you the best of luck.

I lost 12 pounds after I found out I was pregnant and have put 3 of that back on. I am 22 weeks today...

You are definitely not alone!  I am 23 weeks and have gained about 18 pounds.  I was also about 10-12 pounds from goal when I got pregnant.  I stress over the weight gain everyday and am driving everyone nuts with it, but I am so scared that I will become obese again and not be able to lose the weight.  I try to walk at least 2 miles a day.  I had been doing 2.5 every morning, but last week after doing the walk I had bad Braxton Hicks all day and I know I pushed it since I started cramping during my 2nd mile.  So this week I haven't really walked much, so now I am really afraid I will start to gain.

I don't know much about cerlage's but I would be the same as you with worrying about pushing it, especially with your first being so premature.  Maybe if you so small walks throughout the day, whenever you can get them in you would feel like you were at least gettingin some exercise.  But certainly do not pu****!!!  I hope all works out!

Hi, I am thinking about getting a revision to the lap band. I had RNY in 04 but don't have much restriction anymore. I saw you weighed 238 when you had it done rigt now I weigh 232 and I want to be a comfortable 140-150. How fast was your loss and in your opinion is the band a good option?

I love my band!!  I had the surgery May 5 2008 and 1 year later I was down 100 pounds.  Then I got pregnant so I am back up a bit, but I know that I will be able to get the band filled again after the baby is born, so that gives me hope.  The band is normally a slower loss than RNY, but I love that it is adjustable.  Each timeI felt that I was eating more than I should, I was able to get it adjusted so that I couldn't over eat.  Before I got pregnant I was still a bit from goal. but I know that I would have made it there very soon had I not had to have the band unfilled for pregnancy.  I think that each person has to decide for themselves which WLS is best for them, but I know for me, it was definitely the band.

Oh, by the way, my mom  got the band as well, 1 week before me, and she also lost 100 the first year, and is still losing.  Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I gained 50 lbs with my last pregnancy and was only 4 months post-op when I got pregnant.  I was 15 lbs away from goal and freaked out that I had gained so much.  Luckily, I lost 42 within 2 weeks of having the baby.  HOWEVER, I never lost another pound and here I am pregnant again - with TWINS!  I'm 30 weeks and have gained 30 lbs.  Ugh.
