Sick and Contractions?? WAY TMI!

so my kids have passed a puke bug all weekend.  well last night it hit me hard.  I had diahhrea and vomitting (though I had nothing in my belly at this point and it was all dry heaves).  this went off and on for about 4 hours last night.  towards the end I began having very distinct cramps in my sides and stomach.  they sure as hell felt like contractions to me.  I've only ever had them once with my son when I was induced with pitocin and they began hard and strong so these weren't quite like that.

is it possible that I was having contractions?  they lasted roughly 15-30 seconds each and I had one every 7-15 minutes for nearly 2 hours.  once I layed on my left side they stopped completely and I was able to sleep.

I just so happen to have a regular appt this afternoon and have put a call into the nurse about how to come in since I'm sick.  I NEED to see my doc so unless they plan to send me to L&D instead, I'll be there.  they have a choice on how I come in though so I don't infect the whole waiting room.

ugh.  this sucks.

Most likely they are happening because you are dehydrated.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks to me. Also make sure your keeping fluids in you, that can cause contractions. Usually if laying down or changing positions stops them, it's braxton hicks. If they're coming closer together, with any pressure/lower back pain then go. But your 7 mos, about the right time for fake contractions. I hope you feel better.

Yeah, sounds like BH contractions.  Probably from the dehydration.  And I call BS to whoever says BH are not painful!  They stop me in my tracks.
I hope you are feeling better soon.  It sucks to be sick, I can't imagine pregnant and sick!  You poor thing!

Drink some water, chomp on some ice, do whatcha gotta do...
