So first off I am 10 weeks today and so far everything has been going well. I have been having horrible morning sickness, can't eat (absolutely nothing appeals to me or will sit), drying heaving (since I can't puke), etc. I have also had 1 case of severe dehydration and brionchitis, in that order. Well this morning when I woke up and went potty (it was very dark so I might be getting dehydrated again) when I wiped it was a little pinkish and mucousy (sorry tmi). I didnt want to freak myself off cause I know a little spotting is normal and it wasnt red and I said I would keep an eye to see if next time I go potty its still there. Well I havent gone potty again yet so I havent checked but I just got this horrible cramping feeling. I used to get them every now and then but havent felt one in over 2 weeks so now I am freaking out. Is this an emergency that I need to go to er or is this normal...please say its normal and theres nothing to worry about. I've never had a miscarriage but then again I've never been pregnant either but I am very afraid right now. No one is answering my drs. help line number and I am out of state. My insurance is state based only also and they will only cover er trips out of state if an emergency (so I dont want to go to er if not because I am afraid I will get charged). Please someone help me....I am soo afraid right now.

Hey there, listen, pay attention to the cramps.  If you are feeling cramps and it's coming from the rear to the front.  STOP what your doing and go to the ER immediately.  You may be having contractions. Also if you are severly dehydrated you need them to put fluids in you immediately.

When it comes to pregancy and something doesn't feel right its always an emergency.

Take care of yourself and the baby no matter what the cost.

I am sorry I have not had this experience to offer concrete advice but I agree with the pp, pregnancy is always an emergency no matter what the cost...

I hope you hear from your doctor soon and if things get worse you go to ER....prayers and thoughts going up for you!

Dehydration can cause extreme cramping so if you are that dehydrated you may want to go in to get checked out and get some IV fluids, especially since you are out of town.

Just keep trying the Dr. to see what he/she recommends, but if something doesn't feel right to you, go and get checked out to be on the safe side.

I will say that I had spotting, red spotting, at about 10 weeks.  They could never explain it and as you can see, I am still very much pregnant and doing just fine.

Dehydration:

Concerning your pregnancy - The biggest concern with dehydration during the 1st trimester (and the beginning of the 2nd) is that it can limit the amount of anmiotic fluid around the baby and this can lead to deformities and abnormalities in development.

Concerning WLS - However, dehydration can lead to nausea and persistent vomiting. Also, persistent vomiting can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.

Dehydration and vomiting can become a vicious cycle and lead to vitamin deficiencies.  It may even be necessary to return to the hospital to receive IV fluids and vitamins.  Also keep in mind that dehydraytion can cause uterine cramping or contractions.  YOU NEED TO BE HYDRATED!!!

Suggestions:  Even if you drink 1 tiny half an ounce every 5 minutes, you will be doing yourself and your baby some good!  No one is saying you have to gulp down anything at all.  Tiny sips add up.

Also, to know where you're at, get a half a gallon (64 oz or 2 qt) jug and fill it at the beginning of the day.  If you're going to class or something, fill a water bottle from the jug.  If you go to work, fill your water bottle from the jug.  If you're drinking some water at home, fill your glass from the jug.  At the end of the day, the jug should be empty.

Bleeding is very common during the 1st trimester!  Little bits and even a little bit more.  The concern is that you have the bleeding (even pink) in conjunction with other symptoms and when you add them up it's not good to ignore them.  I bleed during my first and third pregnancy during this time and didn't like it any more than you do.

Bottom line:  Yes, go to the ER!  Good luck, sweetie.

It sounds like you are just really dehydtrated and it is causing other complications.  Better safe than sorry...go to the ER!

I hope that you are feeling better soon.
