Crawling and Pulling up --- When??

Matthew has been crawling for almost 2 weeks now.  Just the past couple days he's started pulling up on everything to a standing position.  I was so sure I had at least 2 or 3 months more before I had to worry about child proofing since he's not even 7 months old.  Is this normal?  My niece and little cousin didn't crawl until 10 months.  Does this mean he's going to be an early walker?

I don't think it matters if they crawl/walk early. It's only if they do it too late that you need to worry. My daughter never did crawl. She went right to walking, so I was really worried about her for a while! I think all kids are a bit different. My sister crawled at around 7 months too. You can always write it down and next time you are at the pediatrician's you could ask!! I'm sure it's normal for Matthew!!

Nathan did not start crawling officially until about 8 months...but he was rolling EVERYWHERE....and now he is everywhere crawling around....and he is pulling up....my pedi was not concerned....there are several kids at daycare younger than Nathan that started crawling around 6 months....my pedi said boys develop faster in this area....like Carrie said, every kid is different.....

All three of my children walked around 9 months. One of them never did crawl. Every child is different just enjoy the ride.

Zander has been crawling (a Commando Crawl) since he was about 6 months old... He started pulling up on his walker when he was 8 1/2 months old... Now he's being even more adventurous and has been going from the walker to the couch cushions... I think he's going to take off here soon... He's 9 1/2 months old now...

As a comparison, my niece was walking by 8 months old... So I think all kiddos are different and it sounds like Matthew is progressing well... It's probably time to child proof some things just to be safe...

My daughter started crawling at 7 months and was fully walking by 10 months, running at 12 months. Too me it's early as I see some babies don't even wal****il after 12 months.
