HmmmMMmmm.....

I havent officially been diagnosed with PCOS but im pretty sure that i have it.....HOwever, I just recieved my first period after seven years.....whoo huuuu!!!! However, im freshly out of the surgery and i havent been too alert about my sex habits. I never had to worry about getting pregnant and now its crossing my mind....cuz i have been having alot of intercourse since the surgery. I did take a pregnancy test and it didnt work...the control line didnt show...not even faintly...and i did a search and it said if the control line didnt show then its not valid. However, like i was telling the boyfriend....its common for people with PCOS to have a period one month...and not get it till months and years down the road....so should i be concern....or could this just be one of those moments?????

P.S. I been having vomiting issues...but then again i dont know if its from the surgery or the possibility of being pregnant....Please help me.....

I'm with LExa. My surgeon said 2 types of BC and one should be a barrier method - ie condoms. Since you have such irregular periods you can't judge when you are ovulating so be extra careful.

Also - get yourself to the OB/GYN and tell them about your irregular periods and see what they can do to get you on track - an oral BC pill might be in order to regulate your cycle. Especially important if you want to have babies in the future.

Hope that this helps!

Congrats on your WLS....

I agree with the other ladies....please get to a doctor and find out about PCOS and get on some BC....not sure how soon you are out from surgery but most surgeons suggest 12 - 18 months post op....there are many healthy babies born before then but if you are concerned about getting pregnant I would definitely get to a doctor.....

I had PCOS since 19 and could never get pregnant.  I did twice but ended in m/c - as soon as I had my RNY I got pregnant.  4 months post op!  I NEVER thought it would happen to me and now I have a 2 year old and pregnant with twins...all without trying!!

Please be careful.  Any kind of weightloss can trigger ovulation and you can get pregnant EASILY sometimes after this surgery.
