Cooper Updated & 100 days
Thanks to everyone who gave me great advice (no panicking) about the boogers / sniffles / blahs Cooper's had.
When I got home (armed with a brand new electronic boogie-sniffer, saline spray, a new thermometer and a toy) he was all smiles and coo-ing.
Maybe it was just a blah day? Maybe he's starting to get / fight off a cold?
For now no fever and he's my smiley little Cooper-Man.
Which is good because today his is 100th day in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the Korean culture the celebration of the first 100 days is a lot of times larger than the 1st birthday.
No - Cooper isn't Korean, but my sister-in-law is and I love the idea so much I had to at least "celebrate" the day. Which is also why we choose this coming weekend for Cooper's Baptism.
Here is video of Cooper on his 100th day. (No I am not shaking him -- -that's my hand shaking trying to hold the camera and wave his arms around)

What is the significance of the 7th and 40th? Similiar to the 100th in that it's just a mark your baby is healthy if they made it that far?
Thanks!

Day 40 they usually cut a lock of hair as well....also this is the day the mother sort of takes over as for the first 40 days she is pretty much waited on hand and foot. Henna lasts about that long so she gets henna soon after the birth and as it fades the 40 days nears.
It's a new "trick" this giggling out loud that he started last week and I love it!

I LOVE dried seaweed... .my brother and sister-in-law always have a pot of rice and snack on rice wrapped in seaweed. I just eat the seaweed as the rice is too carby for me !
When my sister in law was pregnant with both babies her mom made gallons of seaweed soup. After both my niece and nephew were born she brought jugs of it to the hospital. They kept a pot on the stove and just boiled it once a day to get rid of germs and ate it often.
I did go through a Kim-Chi phase while pregnant, but I usually substituted Sauerkraut as my mohter-in-law is pure polish and makes it almost weekly.
The only Korean tradition I am not fond of is keeping the house so warm! It's always 90 degrees in their house "for the babies". (Who inherited my family's ability to sweat like pigs and are always soaking from the heat!)
Thanks for the well wishes!
