Bottles
I loved the Playtex drop ins with my first child (b/f my 2nd child exclusively). Loved that I only had to clean the top part where they nipple and ring were and not the actual bottle! I tried Dr. Brown's and it's just too much to take apart and clean. But like some other people have said, it's worth it if your baby really needs that to prevent gas, etc.
My pantry cabinet is full of all types of bottles, but the only ones I use are the Ventaire. I haven't had any problems with them yet. My sister's daughter had really bad gas pains and while she was up here visiting last weekend, I had my sister try a Ventaire on my niece and by the time they left her colic was gone. My sister went home and bought herself a couple sets because she loved them so much too.
I hated Doc Browns! Not just the cleaning --- which sucked, but they seemed to make Cooper spit more than the Munchkin glass bottles:

Yes - glass is heavier, but it hasn't been a big deal. I've dropped them and no breaking. I lost some of the nipples and emailed customer service about getting replacement 1st level ones (not sold in stores near me) and they sent me 6 free bottles w/nipples !

We started out using the Ventaire bottles...they were OK, but we ended up mostly using Dr.Browns! Aethyn just spit up a ton...not much we could do. I did hate all the cleaning of every nook and cranny...but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I loved Dr. Browns, except they suck to wash. We never had an issue with them leaking (unless you fill them entirely too full). Libby never had any issues with them either. We did switch to Nuk when she was about 7 months old, just because they have less parts.

Hmm... I never had problems with avent leaking. That's the only thing my DD would take (I nursed and bottle fed once I went back to work). Was it the nipples leaking or the rim? Did you put them in the dish washer? I don't know if that would cause it but who knows...
The last time I used a bottle was 5 years ago so maybe the quality has changed since then? I sure hope not though.

I have only used one type, Dr. Brown, so I can't compare them to anything else. We started with the 4 oz glass and now use the wide mouth plastic BPA-free 8 oz. They do have five parts, so cleaning is more time consuming. We run a tiny brush through two of the parts, rinse everything with ho****er and then put everything in the dishwasher. I wouldn't recommend the Dr. Brown dishwasher basket for the parts--the parts don't fit right in the basket and the basket doesn't fit right in the dishwasher (just purchase a cheap basket from Target, etc.).
