Well I went to my 6 week PP Appt. I was set that I was going to get the Essure, my doctor talked me into Mirena instead. She said I am young and some people are sorry they chose a permanent method years down the road. So the Mirena is what it will be. On a good and bad note I found out that I weighed 10 pounds more than I thought at the hospital the morning I checked in. I actually weighed 260, so now I have lost 30 pounds which is more than I thought, doc said that was great. I did not have PPD but I take Wellbutrin anyways for depression so I also have anxiety and it has been getting really bad so doc gave me Klonopin, wow talk about anxiety reduction I feel so happy She said I will go to Ativan or Xanax if this isn't good enough...anyone take these??

Well thank you for reading my update and thank you in advance if you give advice on the meds.

sounds like a great appt!!

I was on Xaxanx pre TTC - great stuff!! I call it my "moment" med - you only take it when you are having a "moment" or a rough go of things - it is the fast acting med - I was on Lexapro as the daily medication - for anxiety as well

I can't offer any advice on meds since I don't take anything. But, I wanted to congratulate you on loosing 30 pounds! See, keep it up and you will loose the weight you are wanting to!

Thanks Traci, I know I can and will lose it I am just one of those all or nothing people. If I don't see results immediately I want to give up. I am trying not to do that this time, not working out too bad.

Well, today you got some immediate results that should put excitement back into trying to get the weight off (you lost 10 pounds today...ha)!

Good luck!

Good choice on the Mirena, I loved mine and plan on getting it after this baby!!   I've also taken Xanax after I had my 2nd baby (I had PPD and a little anxiety for the first month) and it's GOOD stuff (but made me kinda sleepy).

Ativan is good too, but I only had that via an IV in the hospital (when I had a meltdown with my first baby and had to be rushed the to the ER because I was dehydrated and didn't know what was wrong with me when I had PPD).   Thankfully it wasn't as bad as when I had my 2nd baby, but I still had PPD after my daughter was born.   My doctor wised up this time (he was my doc for just my 2nd baby and didn't see how I was with my first kid) and I'm getting on Zoloft the month before I have this baby, to help lessen the effects of hormone flutctuation (meaning PPD) after I have the baby.

So anyways, Xanax is good stuff, works really quick too.  GL!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

Thank you for your response. I hear both good and bad about the Mirena, and to be honest I am still on the fence about it even though they put the order in. I do not like hormonal BC but doc said it is directly in the uterus so it won't affect my mood, I'm just skeptical is all. I have a hard time finding a good anti depressant because I refuse to take any that have a high occurrence of weight gain as a side effect.

Mirena was great, though I had a fibroid at the time and it never did stop my periods completely.  But as far as mood swings and weight gain, I had zero of that with Mirena.

Plus, if you don't like it and you decide to have it removed it's an extremely easy procedure.  They just pull the string gently and out it comes!  The placement can be pretty painful, though, so if I were you I would take something before you go to that appointment.  I had mine six years ago and my doctor had only done a couple and didn't realize that it would be painful (especially on me for a variety of reasons, but mainly a tiny cervix), and it was kind of brutal.

Good luck with it!

Thank you for your response. My doctor told me to take motrin before so I assumed there would be some pain. But if I can have two babies all natural I can do anything, theres no greater pain than that. LOL

Yeah, it's nothing unbearable...especially if you've ever had cramps or given birth so you have some frame of reference.  My sister-in-law got it the other day, though, and she is a wimp so she was like crying and almost passed out and stuff.  This is a woman whose had two children, so I don't get it, but oh well!

I had my first (9lbs 14oz) with an epidural but I did my second (6lbs 12oz - 4 weeks early) all natural.  I am going to try to go natural with this one because the experience was so much more amazing without an epidural.
