Back home

and still in pain, even with morphine. Good news my kidney is fine. Absolutely no infection there, but when he pressed on my gallbladder, I about passed out. However, he didn't order the u/s of my gallbladder---just my kidney. He wants me to call OB or primary tomorrow and THEM order THAT scan. I don't know why they just didn't do it tonight. ugh!

He offered me pain killers-----can you believe that?! Narcotics!!!??? HELLO---I'm pregnant.

Anyway, morphine is about as far as I will go and it's not even helping as much as it should. So I'm gonna call more doctors tomorrow. Dave is going back to his conference, but my mom got back into town and is headed over here.

I'll keep you updated.

Glad it's not your kidney HATE that you are still pain that sucks! Also ahppy your Mom is coming over!! try and get some rest and I hope the pain gets better!!

So glad it's not your kidney,  but double yuck on the gallbladder. 

I still don't get why all surgeons don't, as standard protocol, take out the gallbladder and appendix at the time of gastric bypass.   *sigh*

Ditto... they made me seem like a hypochondriac for asking them to take out my gallbladder....still have it now but have an inkling I may have issues with it...but I will ignore it...like I do everything else until I MUST go.
Lucky me, no appendix...right as the med studies that it may have some value to us are now coming out..nice! LOL

I feel for you on that. I had my gallbladder removed almost 2 weeks ago. Surgeons were scared to do it but the Ob was like just take it out. It was an awful pain. Never will I do that again. Although maybe I am a bad mom cause I was on narcotics for 5 days after surgery and the morphine pain pump from 4 days before surgery till day 2 after. I could not take the pain. I luckily dont need them anymore but I could not have functioned without some help. I hope they figure it out for you soon. Rest and get better!!

you're not a bad mom because of the narcotics. I'm just out of my first trimester and it kinda ticked me off that he just wanted to shove drugs at me without knowing the cause of my pain.

I know how you feel. I did not take anything before either. I dont even do tylenol. Was so afraid when they wanted me taking all the stuff I was on. I know what you mean though! I just hope your pain gets better!

I started having gall bladder attacks a week or two after my son was born...and it was atrocious pain.  Can't imagine going through it while pg.  I hope it dies down and you don't end up w/surgery while pg.  One of you on the board having hte surgery while pg was more than sufficient.

Feel better...and call your OB or primary dr ASAP.  You're right...don't know why they didn't just do the u/s while you were there...it's not like you'd have even had to go to another room for it...?
