Feeling BAAAD and I'll keep you updated.
I haven't been feeling very well the last six days or so. On Saturday, we went for a short walk and I swelled up. Later that night, I started having pain in my right kidney area. I figured I needed to push the fluids. So I have been. I haven't been having anyother UTI symptoms, but the pain is getting worse. I couldn't sleep through it last night and now I am getting a fever, even while on tylenol. Of course, Dave AND my mother are both out of town. Dave can probably leave but he's at work(two hrs away) and I hate to take him away from duty. I'm really scared because I only have one kidney. My plan is to call the OB when Alex gets home from school and he can help me with Nikolas. I can't lift him right now. That way, if I need to go in, at least Alex will be with me to take care of Niko.
I'm just scared and feel very alone. It seems, lately like whenever I really need the people in my life, they are not there. Dave would be, but duty 24/7 is part of it. I'm scared and that's not an easy thing to do. I did call and let Dave know and he said to keep him updated and he can come home if he really needs to.
Ugh- I'll keep you updated.

Well- you know the seriousiness of having complications- uti's etc. My advise is call NOW ask for the appointment later today. I find the later in the day you call the more likely they are to say go to the ER,,,or wait it out til tomorrow. I sure hope you are on the road to recovery and feeling better ASAP.
feel better!!! maybe it's kidney stones? very common during pregnancy.

Angie,
You really need to get yourself checked out. I think you know when it is time to call Dave and when it is not. Just remember you are caring for a child, and pregnant, and need to be healthy to do both. So, if you are that sick, don't want it out. Also, with one kidney you are more of a special case than most!
I agree with everyone else, call now for an appointment for late afternoon. Let them know it is because of childcare that you need a later appointment.
I am in Texas but I will offer prayers!! If you need anything, let me know.

Called Dave a little after I wrote original post. Called Doc, but office was closed for lunch. Called back. She told me to get to the hospital as soon as Dave gets here. She doesn't have right equipment at the office. Dave is about 20 minutes away now. We'll text Alex to go to a friend's, if he doesn't make iit home before then. Will keep you updated.
