We've been MIA

Never thought I'd miss a day on OH, but barely online anymore.  We are doing good.  Shyianne was born 8/3/09 @ 6 #s 15 oz.  The little  pig is now 11#s 8 oz.!  I stopped bf'ing around 4 wks cuz she was eating ALL the time.  They thought she was a little colicy so she was put on meds for that.  We only give it 1 or 2 times a day.  She was just put on Zantac for reflux.  Funny thing is she's not that bad to spit up but had other symptoms.  She's still eating like a pig.  We just started adding cereal  to every bottle & she still usually drinks 4 oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours! Sometimes she takes less but usually its the 4.  Sometimes she sleeps 4 hours, but not usually.   Although it seems she is sleeping about that much at night.  She is starting to smile but is very greedy about it.  Can't wait for her to smile all the time.  After being a self proclaimed Dr. Brown's (bottles) spokes person, they failed me miserably!  I tried those, Playtex, & Medela & nothing did just right.  Sz 1 nipples were still too fast for her before we started adding cereal.  Now the Dr B's are still a pain.  The sz 2 is too slow w/ cereal & sz 3 is almost too fast.   Sorry if I sold anyone on the dr. b bottles & they failed.  They were a God send for my now 7 yr old.   Anyway, I'll try to write more later.  Miss ya'll!  Will try to post a new pic soon.  Bye ya'll!

glad shes doing so well... have you tried the enfamil ar? it has the rice starch already mixed in.. so the need to add cereal is much less... similac makes one as well.. and it works wonderfully with the dr browns.. if its to fast with the 3... tighten the lid pretty tight.. it will slow it down

My little piglet has the same issues. We use Dr. Browns bottles with a faster flow nipple and we currently are on our 4th and hopefully our final formula.............Carnation Good Start (Orange Can Gentle) and then i add 1 teaspon rice cereal for every 4 ounces. It helps sooo much with her reflux.  So far it has been staying down and no need yet for any meds......fingers crossed.

Blaze has just started to smile, ........when she wants to. :)
